Meet The Team

You will participate on a project team of engineers involved in the development of software for our next generation data center switch product family, with emphasis in the Ultra-Low Latency(ULL)forwarding later 1-3 services and HPT solutions. Define, architect, compose, and deliver new software protocols and features for the Nexus platform. Work also involves providing constant feedback to hardware and software teams for improvements. Write complete functional and design specs independently. Write portions of product specification and design.

You will have ownership of multiple components and play a substantial role in analyzing new feature requirements, developing design and functional specifications. You will be interacting with technical leaders and senior engineers within the Data Center Networking Business Unit (DCNBU) on design and architectural aspects of features and components owned by you. You will be the go-to person for key technologies and components within your team.

Your Impact

Data Center Networking Business Unit in Cisco focuses on developing AI enabled ground breaking Nexus family of Ethernet Switching products and solutions that address the evolving needs of modern network infrastructures, including those in AI, cloud computing, enterprise and Ultra Low latency environments.

Minimum qualifications

• Senior software development engineer working on groundbreaking technologies in a fast-changing landscape of datacenter technologies and part of the BU having ownership of multiple products.
• Developing software using C/C++ on Networking devices like switches and routers
• Developing Ultra-Low Latency forwarding services and SDK
• Proven understanding of RTOS based Linux OS and distributed systems
• Proven track record in debugging and analyzing complex customer deployments and understand technical issues
• Strong working knowledge of Networking Technologies like L2/L3/VXLAN/ACL/QOS
• Very Good communication skills and excel in a team environment.
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams as well as providing technical leadership when required.
• Ability to work independently and with little supervision.
• Ability to translate high level requirements into specific features, develop functional and design specifications Flexibility in a fast paced, constantly evolving, deadline-driven environment.
• Experience with Nexus OS is a plus
• Typically requires Masters/B.E/B.Tech ECE/CS with 8+ years related experience in networking software development.
