Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, Ohio-based Sr. Manager of Talent Acquisition to join our growing organization. The Sr. Manager, TA will be responsible for overseeing the full life cycle of talent acquisition activities including sourcing, screening, talent pipeline development, the selection process (interviewing, presenting a qualified short list of candidates, extending offers) and on boarding successful candidates to Abeona Therapeutics. This position will also manage and drive appropriate sourcing, assessment, selection and pre-onboarding strategies.

The Sr. Manager of Talent Acquisition will have responsibility for managing the end-to-end recruiting process from the Recruiting Strategy meeting, to posting, and screening until the offer has been accepted, in collaboration with the Hiring Manager and HRBP.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform full cycle recruiting for Abeona Therapeutics open positions, including new positions and backfills.
  • Provide effective and creative recruitment solutions by developing a solid understanding of the business as well as the external talent landscape
  • Develop and partner with Communications and Marketing to develop a TA strategy for the company, inclusive of Employer Branding and social media engagement
  • Create, manage, facilitate, and leverage headcount reporting and reporting tools for proactive planning
  • Lead and facilitate recruitment strategy meetings for new requisitions, and maintain flexibility to pivot as needed with changing capabilities needed by the business
  • Responsible for providing quality candidates to the hiring manager in a timely manner
  • Manage relationships with third party vendors (contingency firms, staffing partners) when necessary
  • Champion structured interviewing training to support capabilities for those on the panel and improve candidate experience
  • Manage candidate debrief sessions following the interviews and communication with the candidate throughout the interviewing process
  • Work with HRBP to put forward a competitive offer package with input from the hiring manager
  • Maintain current market knowledge and external trends, in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and the cell and gene therapy space.
  • Responsible for data integrity within the Applicant Tracking System
Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree required
  • 5+ years of successful recruiting experience, required, with a minimum of 2 years spent recruiting in the Pharma/Biotech industry
  • Demonstrated experience working with managing stakeholders at all levels and partnering closely with HRBPs and Hiring Managers
  • Excellent customer service, balanced with strong influencing skills and ability to push back when required
  • Proficient in using an ATS and able to train others on the system
  • Excellent attention to detail required
  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently on multiple concurrent tasks, and highly autonomous with limited day-to-day supervision
  • Ability to handle confidential information and maintain a high degree of professionalism
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to meet tight deadlines and superior customer service are all critical success factors for this role
  • Strong understanding of technology and experience using talent acquisition systems, including Applicant Tracking, Candidate Relationship Management, social media, and other predictive tools

Physical Demands
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching as required to file documents or access office equipment.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds (e.g., files, office supplies).
  • Frequent use of standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, printers, and copiers.
  • Ability to participate in on-site or virtual meetings, trainings, and employee events.
  • May occasionally need to move between different buildings or lab areas (non-laboratory roles will not involve exposure to hazardous materials).
