Integral to the continued success of ZEVASKYN in the U.S., the Associate Director, Strategic Account Executive – West ensures internal and external alignment to deliver a seamless patient and customer experience and drive treatment adoption across the western U.S. region. This role is focused on strengthening referral networks with Centers of Excellence (COEs) and referring HCPs, optimizing Qualified Treatment Centers (QTCs) performance, and ensuring patients are efficiently identified, approved, and treated.
The Associate Director serves as the regional quarterback across cross-functional teams, advancing Abeona's business objectives while prioritizing patient access and outcomes. This individual plays a critical dual role in cultivating strategic relationships across QTCs, COEs, academic institutions, and community providers, while driving educational initiatives, institutional engagement, referral readiness, and operational excellence across the treatment journey.
This is a highly visible role both internally and externally, requiring strong leadership, cross-functional influence, executive presence, and the ability to effectively represent Abeona with key stakeholders, including key opinion leaders (KOLs), institutional leadership, and multidisciplinary treatment teams.
With a competitive salary ranging from $195,000 to $215,000 per year, plus an incentive bonus based on performance! This position offers not only financial rewards but also the opportunity to advance your career in a supportive environment.
This position is fully remote and requires regular travel (40-60%) within the assigned region.

Your day to day as an Associate Director, Strategic Account Executive
As an Associate Director, Strategic Account Executive at Abeona Therapeutics Inc., your day-to-day activities will focus on:
Establishing, expanding, and operationalizing referral pathways between QTCs, COEs, and referring centers to ensure appropriate patients are identified, referred, and directed to treatment in a timely and efficient manner
Institutional Engagement & Education:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for select Centers of Excellence, academic institutions, large health systems, and other referring institutions.
- Develop and deliver scientifically accurate and compelling educational presentations tailored to the needs of institutional stakeholders (clinicians, researchers, nurse educators, etc.).
- Identify opportunities for regional ad boards/speaker programs and then plan and execute with cross functional support.
- Facilitate engagement of institutions for patient identification, and referral readiness, and post operative care preparedness.
- Build trusted, collaborative relationships with KOLs, clinical teams, and administrative leaders at COEs and other referring institutions.
- Monitor and track HCP readiness, identify gaps, and propose solutions to support appropriate access to Zevaskyn, utilizing appropriate resources.
- Present monthly account updates to Commercial Leadership Team and other relevant teams.
Conference Planning & Management:
- Support Abeona's presence at key medical, scientific, and industry conferences (e.g., SPD, SID, PeDRA, and regional meetings).
- Coordinate with internal teams (medical affairs, commercial, communications) to develop educational content, manage logistics, and ensure consistent branding.
- Identify speaking and presentation opportunities for internal subject matter experts and key opinion leaders both nationally and regionally.
- Analyze post-conference metrics and stakeholder feedback to optimize future engagement strategies.
Work Location & Schedule
This role works remotely, based in the Western United States, serving as the regional quarterback across cross-functional teams, advancing Abeona's business while prioritizing patient access and outcomes.
General work hours are from Monday to Friday between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM (with some early mornings, late nights, or weekend work on occasion).

Strong expertise in strategic account management within a complex healthcare system (biotech, pharma, etc.) with demonstrated success in post-launch execution – including referral pathway development and patient treatment optimization is necessary for someone to successfully manage the responsibilities of this role. In addition, public speaking, relationship building, and experience working within complex academic, medical centers, and navigating multidisciplinary stakeholders (both internally and externally) is vital to accomplishing general objectives.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- Candidate must reside in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, or Washington (California would be preferred).
- 5-10 years of prior Strategic or Key Account Management experience within complex healthcare systems (specifically within hospital systems preferred)
- Demonstrated success in post-launch execution, including referral pathway development and patient treatment optimization.
- 3-5 years of cross-functional commercial experience (e.g., Market Access, Marketing, Operations, Medical collaboration)
- 3-5 years of experience working within complex academic medical centers and navigating multidisciplinary stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead through influence, manage ambiguity, and drive execution across highly matrixed organizations.
- Strong presentation, executive communication, and stakeholder engagement skills across clinical, operational, and leadership audiences
- Experience supporting national and regional congress strategy, speaker programs, advisory boards, and conference execution.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in autologous cell or gene therapy commercialization is strongly preferred.
- Experience working closely with executive leadership and navigating complex institutional decision-making environments is strongly preferred.
- Experience managing ultra-rare disease treatment pathways, including deep, high-touch patient journeys and cross-functional coordination, is strongly preferred.

Occasional walking, standing, or climbing stairs within office or facility settings. Must be able to travel between company sites or to vendor locations (40-60%) as needed.
