Job Description

Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a Learning and Development Lead to join our Customer Support Team. This person will focus on enhancing the Support Teams competence and knowledge by developing engaging, effective, and innovative learning solutions as well as being responsible for building, designing, and facilitating new hire onboarding and continuing education programs while executing both self-paced eLearning and instructor-led programs.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and build a robust training strategy and implementation plan that can scale to support growth
  • Reimagine new hire onboarding and ongoing training programs to support business objectives, ongoing career development, employee engagement and retention
  • Develop, design, and execute targeted learning solutions aligned with crucial onboarding, talent development and business strategies
  • Facilitate engaging training programs that contribute to employee growth, development, and business impact
  • Offer course development and facilitation that reflects learning methodologies in delivery of curriculum to foster participant engagement and appeal to all learning styles (visual, auditory, kinesthetic, linguistic, interpersonal, and intrapersonal)
  • Assist with performing learning needs assessments, surveys, and focus groups
  • Design, build and maintain facilitation guides and training materials
  • Assist with training related projects and initiatives as needed
  • Stay up to date with L&D Industry trends and best practices to enhance learning offerings
  • Constantly think of new ways to improve all things learning, development, and talent, including but not limited to the employee experience, functional training, career development, leadership development, continuous learning, performance management

What You’ll Need to Succeed

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Can work remotely or from an Applied Systems office
  • Is able to travel up to 25%

Your experience should include some or all of the following:

  • Minimum 7 years of progressive professional experience in Training and Learning & Development
  • Experience leveraging the full capabilities of a modern LMS, experience with Brainier a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (PowerPoint and Outlook in particular) with an ability to learn new technical systems as needed
  • Ability to design and implement effective training and development programs
  • Strong presentation, public speaking, and facilitation skills with both soft skills and functional training and proven ability to effectively communicate with leaders
  • Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude, and thorough knowledge of training development process
  • Skilled at working with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods
  • Ability to evaluate and research training content and establish achievable learning outcomes

Additionally, you may have:

  • Salesforce or relevant case management knowledge/experience
  • Experience in virtual Contact Center/Customer Service/Support environments
  • Experience in tech, insurance or business consulting environment
