Our mission is simple: End Cyber Risk. We’re looking for a Director Product – Strategic Projects & Certifications to be part of making this happen.

This is a multi-faceted product leadership role combining strategic business initiatives with product compliance and certifications. This includes initiatives such as orchestrating M&A activity, internationalization strategy of products to more ephemeral projects to drive process improvements and other cross-functional plans.

This role does not involve traditional customer-facing, revenue driving products, but will involve deep exposure to different product lines. The projects under this leader are both technical and commercial in nature, requiring expert-level proficiency working on highly detailed and complex projects.

This is a high visibility position expected to present to senior company leadership, build and lead cross-functional teams.

LOCATION: This role is open to Remote-United States, Remote-Canada, Hybrid-Eden Prairie-MN-US, Hybrid-Waterloo-ON-CA.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Conduct internal and external research in a consultative fashion: inclusive of customer requirements, market requirements, competitive research, internal research and analysis to inform strategic direction and priorities.

  • You will lead and drive the Product compliance certifications vision, strategy & roadmap, plus be expected to closely collaborate with C-Level executives and their respective cross functional teams throughout the development and delivery lifecycle of compliance-framework focused solutions.

  • Lead the development and execution of regulatory compliance product strategy, ensuring alignment with key stakeholders, business goals and customer needs.

  • Define and prioritize product requirements based on regulatory requirements, market trends, and customer feedback.

  • Define new products and services in partnership with product managers.

  • Act as a project/program delivery champion: represent the business and value of the initiatives throughout the definition and delivery process, problem solve obstacles to delivery, build a sense of team and set the urgency/energy levels where appropriate, model and foster company values across delivery teams and ensure overall team and project success. This will include working in harmony with senior product, engineering, marketing and GTM leaders.

  • Readily identify and resolve conflicts cross functionally to ensure alignment of priorities and delivery to leadership expectations.

  • Required to brief senior product executives on the state of their respective initiatives. Will be present for major acquisition decision meetings and discussions with senior leadership.

  • Embed Compliance in Product Lifecycle – Partner with product managers and engineering to ensure security, privacy, and regulatory requirements are designed into products from concept through launch.

  • Customer & Market Advocacy – Engage with key customers and industry bodies to anticipate regulatory trends and ensure company readiness.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years in a product management, program management or security compliance leadership role

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Computer Science or Business Administration preferred)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in cybersecurity highly desired

  • Hands-on experience and strong understanding of compliance standards and frameworks, such NIST, PCI DSS, CMMC, StateRAMP/FedRAMP, FFIEC, CJIS etc.

  • Strong understanding of international compliance (GDPR, ISO, data sovereignty requirements)

  • Master’s in Business Administration

  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are a plus.

  • Exceptional presentation, communication, and executive reporting skills

  • Proven track record of successfully bringing compliance-focused products to market.

  • Regulatory and Compliance Expertise: Strong understanding, and deep knowledge, of compliance standards and frameworks, such NIST, PCI DSS, CMMC, StateRAMP/FedRAMP, FFIEC, CJIS etc.

  • Knowledge and use of technical, market, and customer research methodologies.

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills for internal audiences of all levels and externally with partners and customers. They are a “trusted” voice of product.

  • Technical aptitude capable to comprehend target customer IT infrastructure, company products and services at a system, data flow and API level, the ins and outs of development, design, agile framework, software development, and scrum approach.

  • Contributor to the decomposition of strategic objectives into phased operational and tactical goals and measures.

  • Product Strategy & Roadmapping – Ability to translate compliance and certification needs into product requirements and portfolio priorities.

  • Proficient decision making and decision follow-through - including defining a problem, identifying different alternatives, selecting, and implementing the best alternative and evaluating results to success criteria.

  • Understands and suggests improvements to full-lifecycle product management. Is proficient with product definition, prioritization cross-functionally and through the SDLC process.

  • Contributes to major departmental goals and objectives.

  • Informally coaches lower-level employees.

  • Highly detail oriented and able to manage many tasks from multiple requestors simultaneously.

  • Program Management & Execution – Skilled in driving complex, cross-functional initiatives across engineering, security, legal, and product lines.

  • Stakeholder Influence & Communication – Strong executive presence; able to brief leadership, auditors, and customers succinctly and persuasively.

  • Internationalization & Market Expansion – Experience adapting products to meet global compliance requirements and enabling entry into new markets.
