What You’ll Do
The Cloud Engineer will join the cloud engineering team to support the implementation, management, and optimization of Azure cloud environments with a focus on identity management, Microsoft 365 (M365), and Office 365 (O365) services. The ideal candidate will contribute to secure, efficient, and scalable cloud solutions, emphasizing identity and access management, M365/O365 administration, and network/security practices. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure operational reliability, compliance, and performance while supporting business objectives in a fast-paced environment.
- Administer and maintain Microsoft Azure cloud environments, focusing on identity management (Azure Entra ID), M365, and O365 services, including Exchange, OneDrive, and Teams.
- Configure and manage secure access controls, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and conditional access policies to protect cloud-based systems.
- Support the integration and lifecycle management of user identities, including synchronization with systems like Workday for automated provisioning and deprovisioning.
- Monitor and optimize M365/O365 licenses, user accounts, and service configurations to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Implement and maintain network security measures, such as Azure Firewall, Network Security Groups (NSGs), and Virtual Network (VNet) configurations, to ensure secure connectivity.
- Assist in deploying and managing Azure services, including IaaS and PaaS solutions, with an emphasis on scalability and reliability.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize configurations to meet service-level objectives.
- Implement backup and recovery processes for M365/O365 data and Azure resources to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Collaborate with security teams to enforce compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 27001, GDPR) and company policies.
- Participate in troubleshooting and resolving network, security, and identity-related issues in Azure environments.
- Contribute to documentation, process improvements, and knowledge sharing to enhance team operations.
- Support on-call rotations for resolving critical issues related to cloud services and identity management.
- Stay updated on Azure, M365, and O365 features, recommending improvements to align with business needs.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or IT-focused field or equivalent experience
- 1+ years of experience managing Azure cloud services, with a focus on Azure Entra ID, M365, and O365 administration.
- Familiarity with Azure networking components (e.g., VNets, NSGs, Azure Firewall) and security best practices.
- 3+ years of experience in IT operations, including systems administration, networking, or identity management.
- Knowledge of network security practices, such as firewall configuration, VPNs, and secure access controls.
- Experience with identity management processes, including user provisioning, SSO, and MFA.
- Proficiency in managing M365/O365 services (Exchange, OneDrive, Teams) and optimizing their configurations.
- Familiarity with scripting and automation tools, such as PowerShell, for managing Azure and M365 environments (preferred).
- Understanding of compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, ISO/IEC 27001) and their application to cloud environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud services, identity management, and network connectivity.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on collaboration and customer-oriented support.
- Proactive attitude, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
