The Director, Global Benefits, will lead the design, implementation, and administration of the company’s global benefits programs.
This role focuses on operational excellence—ensuring benefits are delivered accurately, efficiently, and consistently across Americas, EMEA, and APAC.
Core responsibilities include plan design, vendor management, and billing oversight. Working in close partnership with Service Delivery, Client Success, Finance, and HR teams, this leader ensures benefits programs support both employee needs and business priorities, while remaining compliant.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and evaluation of global health, retirement, and other benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness, compliance, and alignment with business strategy.
- Own relationships with global and regional benefits vendors, brokers, and consultants. Oversee transition, vendor performance, SLAs, renewals, and negotiations.
- Ensure the effective administration of global benefits programs in collaboration with Service Delivery teams.
- Manage internal relationships to ensure accurate and timely communication to internal and external stakeholders.
- Establish and monitor operational processes (billing, approvals, activities) to improve accuracy, consistency, and scalability.
- Partner with Finance and/or vendors on reconciliation, audits, and forecasting.
- Ensure benefits programs comply with local laws and global policies.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and risk controls.
Qualifications
- 8-10+ years of experience in global benefits (health, life, disability, retirement, business travel, workers' compensation) with a strong operational and service delivery orientation, with 4-5 years of leadership experience.
- Strong understanding of benefits compliance across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC
- Experience in transitioning from in-house management to an outsourced global benefits provider/vendor
- Proven ability to partner with cross-functional teams to create more effective processes
- Expertise in plan design, vendor management, and financial/billing processes.
- Excellent project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience working in a client-facing role (consulting, support, EOR) preferred
- Operationally minded leader who thrives in a process-driven environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of ERISA and PPACA laws and regulations that govern all benefit programs.
- Strong collaborator with a global mindset and service delivery focus.
