Atomic is growing a diverse and inclusive team of people turning care, craft, and curiosity into lasting value for our clients, communities, and one another.

We're looking for a thoughtful marketer who loves variety, builds trust quickly, and finds real satisfaction in seeing their work show up in the world. If you're the kind of person who tries new tools, shares what you learn, and looks for ways to work smarter, you'll fit right in.

Company

Since 2001, Atomic Object has designed and developed software products for web, mobile, desktop, and embedded devices. We were founded on the belief that not all software is created equal. Many people can write code, but it takes a close-knit team of passionate people to create exceptional, innovative products that change the way people do business. This is all the more true in the age of AI.

We’re an employee-owned company with 125+ Atoms based in our Ann Arbor, Chicago, Grand Rapids, and Raleigh offices. Unlike many other technology companies, we have a flat organization. There is no corporate ladder to climb. As a company that values transparency, we practice open-books management. At Atomic, you can build a meaningful career doing work you care about without sacrificing ownership, transparency, or a seat at the table.

Job Overview

POSITION

Atomic Object's four local offices — Ann Arbor, Chicago, Grand Rapids, and Raleigh — each has its own identity, leadership team, and market. They also share a need for consistent, skilled marketing support.

The Senior Marketing Specialist is the connective tissue between Atomic's central marketing function and its local offices. You'll build real relationships with office leaders, learn their markets, and make it easier for them to prospect new clients, host events, and build Atomic's brand presence in their communities.

This is a relationship-first, execution-focused role. You won't be setting a company-wide strategy, but you will be executing the local marketing agenda for four active offices, and your work will directly influence how Atomic Object shows up in each of its markets and how effectively local efforts generate pipeline. Success in this role depends on prioritizing office activities most likely to influence pipeline and strategic visibility. You'll build a rare breadth of marketing fluency across four distinct markets, an ideal fit for someone energized by variety and relationships.

DETAILS

  • Home base in Ann Arbor
  • Hybrid work environment with the expectation to be generally present in the office for at least 60% of your work week
  • Ability and willingness to travel to all four offices annually

Key Responsibilities

LOCAL OFFICE PARTNERSHIP (~85% OF ROLE)

Each office operates with its own local go-to-market priorities. This means your mix of active responsibilities will shift depending on the office and the season. You won't be running every activity for every office simultaneously, but you'll own the full range of these activities over time. You’ll meet with Managing Partner Teams regularly to bring their go-to-market plans to life and provide monthly activity and results reports to each office’s leaders. You’ll employ a mix of the following activities as appropriate:

  • Business Development Enablement — Serve as the marketing point person for Managing Partners in each office. Make outbound outreach easier by building prospect lists, sourcing contacts, preparing research, and coordinating outreach. Support decision-making with business development data analysis in CRM.
  • Events — Plan local events including client dinners, tech community gatherings, open houses, workshops, and panels. Manage logistics, invites, vendors, run-of-show, and follow-up.
  • Thought Leadership — Support individual brand building for local leaders and practitioners through managing newsletters, finding and pitching speaking opportunities, or running LinkedIn promotion for leaders’ insights.
  • Public Relations — Manage local award applications, press releases, podcast coordination, and media relationships.
  • Local Digital Marketing — Maintain and improve office landing pages, manage local listings (Google Business, Clutch, etc.), support local social media, and run local reviews campaigns. Track local landing page performance.
  • Community Engagement — Proactively surface relevant local events, publications, and community intelligence to office leaders. Support local sponsorships, university relationships, and community-facing initiatives and philanthropic causes.
  • Brand Collateral Access — Help local teams understand and access Atomic Object's existing marketing materials: photos, decks, branded assets, swag.
  • Operational Standards — Headshots for new hires, bio page publication, booth support, local brand photography coordination, swag inventory and management.

TEAM & COORDINATION (~15% OF ROLE)

  • Maintain a living office playbook for each market (key contacts, annual calendar, BD priorities, vendor relationships)
  • Maintain task organization in Notion
  • Participate in weekly marketing & recruiting team syncs and regular group learning sessions
  • Contribute to marketing & recruiting team quarterly planning

GENERAL EMPLOYMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work a full-time job (generally 40-42 hours per week).
  • Track time daily.
  • Engage in professional development and continued learning outside of work hours.
  • Periodically contribute to Atomic’s blog.
  • Travel to all four offices annually, and occasionally as needed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of marketing experience, ideally in B2B, professional services, agency account management, or a consulting environment
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities — you'll be serving four offices simultaneously
  • Demonstrated experience planning and executing events of varying scale
  • Proven experience building and maintaining external relationships on behalf of an organization
  • Comfortable with a wide range of tactical work: writing, logistics, research, digital updates
  • Relationship-oriented — you build trust with people quickly and follow through consistently
  • Curious about AI tools and actively working to grow your fluency over time

Desired Skills

  • Familiarity with tools like HubSpot, Notion, Mailchimp, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and Google Analytics
  • Experience shooting and editing photos and videos
  • Basic design skills in Canva
