POSITION SUMMARY:

The Graphic Designer is responsible for the creative execution of projects and initiatives, creating key elements of a brand’s holistic vision, through development and application of visual identity and brand experiences across multiple touch points, with executional excellence. This candidate possesses strong conceptual skills, having high-level sense of design, layout and typography, who is a broad thinker and able to offer a variety of design solutions. The candidate will be expected to focus on developing print and digital marketing materials but can also delve into the digital and multi-media world when needed.

This is a hands-on graphic design environment where design and production support a wide variety of internal clients for a growing company. From internal and external communication campaign designs, development and production to supporting senior executives with groundbreaking presentations/visuals, this role demands strong relationship-building skill coupled with practical design, smart copy/content, and production know-how for multiple media; this includes print, digital, presentations, events and emerging media modalities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION: (60% print, 40% digital)

  • Create designs that push the unexpected creative boundaries while maintaining brand compliance
  • Transform complex concepts into high-quality, easy to understand assets that educate, inspire and further the development of AtriCure’s story across platforms and channels
  • Support the creative needs of corporate marketing including activities such as product and program presentations, branding and marketing efforts
  • Support senior designer and social media team - to deliver high quality creative work for all social channels
  • Comfortable with brand thinking, user experience thinking, digital best practices
  • Create concepts from a clean slate as well as extend established creative concepts
  • Highly motivated with passion for producing excellent print and digital creative solutions
  • Ability to research and understand a concept and then simplify the visual to the target audience
  • Can flexibly collaborate with other marketing and project teams in an environment where every project can have a different combination of needs and resources

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design required or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • A minimum 4 years of Design related experience is required
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, Acrobat, After Effects
  • Proficiency in understanding of print and digital design and production processes
  • Strong knowledge of design principals
  • Proficiency in understanding and knowledge of marketing vehicles and specifications, advertising, marketing and media terminology and processes
  • Familiarity with digital formats to provide graphics to support web and electronic communications
  • Demonstrate strong visual, written, and oral communication skills to execute project briefs
  • Demonstrate experience in working independently, managing projects, prioritizing and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong attention to detail, writing, editing and proofing skills
  • Up to 75-100% hands-on design work
  • Basic understanding of environmentally responsible design
  • Ability to travel 25%

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous Medical Device industry experience
  • Understanding of regulatory issues and labeling requirements for medical device products useful

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to regularly walk, sit, or stand as needed
  • Ability to occasionally bend and push/pull as needed
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
