Principal Business Analyst, Engineering

AtriCure, Inc. has an opening for the Principal Business Analyst, Engineering in Mason, OH with remote work allowed 2-3 days per week.

Duties include:

• Assist in defining the requirements, associated designs for future state product configuration management practices enabled by CAD, CAE & Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) technologies with the goal of bringing AtriCure’s medical devices more quickly to the market while meeting today’s & the ever-changing global regulatory & compliance requirements;
• Assist the team in the quality assurance verification, validation testing & deployment of engineering technology solutions for production use;
• Facilitate requirements gathering workshops to capture business, functional, and system level requirements for enabling technologies in support of engineering & manufacturing best practices;
• Serve as a liaison between the business engineers and the IT development team to ensure the end solution adequately meets all requirements;
• Interpret, understand and analyze complex legacy business processes, systems, and associated data, model and map to the future state solution;
• Apply the various application development lifecycles: Agile, Spiral Model, RUP, Waterfall; Provide mentorship and oversight of team members to drive project execution;
• Provide input to quality assurance strategies;
• Author and execute test scripts in the incident resolution process; and
• Assist technology & solution development teams in the design of future state Product Lifecycle Management PLM solutions (process models enabled by CAD, PLM and related technologies) based on industry best practices in: Document Management; Advanced product configuration management; Change control; Systems engineering and requirements management; and Integrations with CAD, CRM, ERP, MES or Reporting & Analytics platforms; and
• 0-5% domestic travel to AtriCure worksites and symposiums.

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Math, Computing Technology, Engineering discipline, or a related field (foreign equivalent degree accepted)
• 10 years of progressive, post degree experience as an Engineer, Engineering Business Analyst, or a related role.

• 8 years of experience in each of the following:
  • Facilitating requirements gathering workshops to capture business, functional, system level requirements for enabling technologies in support of engineering & manufacturing best practices;
  • Serving as a liaison between the business engineers and the IT development team to ensure the end solution adequately meets all requirements;
  • Interpreting, understanding and analyzing complex legacy business processes, systems, and associated data to model and map to the future state solution; and
  • Applying any of the various application development lifecycles: Agile, Spiral Model, RUP, or Waterfall.
• 5 years of experience in each of the following:
  • In the medical device industry;
  • In a lead role providing mentorship and oversight of team members to drive project execution;
  • Providing input to quality assurance strategies;
  • Authoring and executing test scripts in the incident resolution process;
  • Assisting technology & solution development teams in the design of future state Product Lifecycle Management PLM solutions (process models enabled by CAD, PLM and related technologies) based on industry best practices in: Document Management; Advanced product configuration management, and Change control; Systems engineering and requirements management; and Integrations with CAD, CRM, ERP, MES or Reporting & Analytics platforms.

Experience may be gained concurrently. Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check is required.
