Basis Technologies is headquartered in Chicago, and for this role, we are specifically looking for a Chicago-based contractor to provide event and marketing support in person and remotely.

WAYS YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE
As the Event Support Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in helping us execute impactful events and marketing programs. Reporting to the Field Marketing & Events Manager, you’ll help ensure events run smoothly, from pre-planning to post-event wrap-up.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Event Support: Assisting in planning and executing a variety of internal and external events, from small VIP get-togethers to larger conferences. You will be responsible for handling both virtual and in-person events, with a focus on onsite logistics in Chicago.
- Venue and Vendor Coordination: Research venues, supporting vendor communications, and help manage relationships with vendors and partners.
- Brand Representation: Ensure Basis Technologies is well-represented at events by adhering to brand guidelines and overseeing event setup, including signage and branded materials.
- Onsite Event Logistics: Be available to assist with setup, registration, name badges, and collateral for in-person events, primarily in Chicago. Coordinate with venue staff and troubleshoot onsite issues as they arise.
- Event Administration: Manage event registrations, guest lists, and communication cadences. Assist with creating marketing websites and coordinating email communications for events.
- Post-Event Follow-Up: Assisting with post-event surveys and help analyze success metrics for continuous improvement.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with the Field Marketing & Events Manager and other team members to provide seamless event support, both behind the scenes and onsite.
- Supply Management: Managing the marketing team supply closet and inventory, including shipping supplies to events as needed from the Chicago office.
- Internal Communication: Keep internal teams informed and engaged with event timelines and deliverables.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
- Must be based in Chicago with reliable transportation
- 2+ years of event planning or marketing support experience
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams
- Adaptive, proactive mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- Experience coordinating and executing both virtual and in-person events
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and taking on a variety of responsibilities
- Proficiency with event management systems is a plus
WORK SCHEDULE AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Primarily remote role, with the expectation to work from the Chicago office a few times a month
- Expected schedule: Monday through Thursday, 15–25 hours per week, with flexibility to work additional hours during peak seasons (spring and fall)
- Travel within Chicago for in-person events, and ability to travel out of state for select events 1–4 times per year
