Why Bonterra, Why Now?

Bonterra exists to propel every doer of good to their peak impact. Our vision is bold: increase the giving rate as a percentage of GDP from 2% to 3% by 2033. The Corporate Social Responsibility segment—comprising of Employee Engagement, Grants Management, and specific Life Sciences organization work—is central to that vision. Over half of the Fortune 100 already use Bonterra to manage giving, engage employees, and run world-class impact programs.

Now, we’re looking for a Vice President of Product to lead the next wave of innovation and growth in this segment. This leader will own the product vision, roadmap, and strategy for Funders—spanning CyberGrants, Bonterra Grantmaker, and our new AI driven initiatives. It’s a rare opportunity to shape how the world’s most influential institutions drive measurable social impact—at scale.

The Role

You will lead a team of product managers, drive a multi-product roadmap, and work cross-functionally with engineering, design, data science, marketing, client success, and sales. This is both a strategic and executional role: you’ll set direction, prioritize ruthlessly, and ensure our Funders solutions are differentiated, impactful, and commercially successful.

This role is ideal for a product leader who blends visionary strategy, operational excellence, and GTM fluency—someone who thinks in terms of business outcomes, customer transformation, and platform value creation.

What You’ll Do

Set Vision + Strategy

  • Craft and communicate a bold 3-year product strategy for the product area—one that strengthens current offerings while laying the groundwork for future category leadership.

  • Define and advocate for a unified product architecture across our existing solutions, identifying opportunities to simplify, scale, and modernize.

  • Partner closely with cross-functional leaders to explore and validate net-new product opportunities that expand our impact and reach—especially in emerging market segments.

  • Bring a future-of-funders lens to the portfolio—ensuring we lead not just with what exists today, but with what the market will demand next.

Drive Roadmap Execution

  • Lead cross-functional teams through all phases of the product lifecycle—from discovery to launch to iteration—grounded in Jobs-To-Be-Done, segment-specific insights, and clear ROI modeling.

  • Prioritize high-impact product investments that accelerate revenue growth, increase retention (GDR, NDR), and improve gross margin.

  • Embed outcome validation into how your team ships, ensuring that product decisions are measured by business value—not just features delivered.

Integrate Platform + AI Capabilities

  • Partner closely with the Platform and AI teams to embed intelligent features (e.g., segmentation, attribution, optimization) that materially improve customer outcomes and create pricing power.

  • Shape how we think about monetization and modularity in the product segment—turning professional services, AI capabilities, and integrations into packaged offerings with margin upside.

Collaborate Across the Org

  • Act as the product executive in Market Pod meetings—aligning with GTM leads on pricing, packaging, segmentation, and launch strategy.

  • Influence key stakeholders across Sales, Services, Finance, and Marketing to align on strategy and execution priorities.

  • Translate product strategy into clear, investor-aligned narratives that resonate with internal stakeholders, board members, and the broader social good ecosystem.

Coach and Elevate the Product Team

  • Lead and develop a team of Directors and Product Managers—ensuring clarity of ownership, decision-making confidence, and accountability to results

  • Build a product culture grounded in discovery, business impact, and velocity—where PMs think like business owners, not feature owners

  • Establish high standards for but discovery and delivery work outputs—coaching your team to meet them consistently

  • Mentor emerging leaders within the team, helping them grow from solid executors to strategic thinkers and cross-functional influencers

  • Shape and evolve our product operating system—bringing consistency to how we plan, prioritize, validate, and measure work

You’ll Thrive in This Role If You Are...

A Strategic, Outcomes-Oriented Thinker

You make complex decisions quickly. You balance near-term revenue with long-term defensibility. You ask: Will this grow ARR? Improve retention? Increase EBITDA?—and act accordingly.

Customer-Obsessed and Segment-Savvy

You deeply understand CSR buyers and grantmakers—what motivates them, what frustrates them, and what earns their trust. You know how to prioritize the few insights that matter.

Fast-Moving and Action-Oriented

You lead with velocity. You default to clarity over consensus. You know how to galvanize a team, make tough calls, and course-correct quickly.

A Clear Communicator and Evangelist

You distill vision into soundbites, frameworks, and product narratives. You help others believe in what’s possible—and why it matters.

A Talent Builder Who Raises the Bar
You’re energized by growing people, not just products. You coach with clarity, set high expectations, and create an environment where PMs become sharper thinkers, better communicators, and more accountable leaders. You build strong teams—and stronger individuals.

Experience That Stands Out

  • 10+ years in B2B SaaS product leadership roles, ideally including multi-product ownership.

  • Experience leading product teams in CSR, philanthropy, grants management, or similarly complex enterprise segments.

  • Track record of defining and executing platform strategies across business lines or product lines.

  • Strong financial acumen—comfortable managing tradeoffs across ARR, retention, margin, and platform investments.

  • Familiarity with pricing/packaging strategies and service integration a major plus.

  • Comfort working with PE-backed leadership teams and board-level transparency.

Key Metrics You Will Own or Influence

  • Revenue growth in both NCA (New Customer Acquisition) and IB (Install Base)

  • Gross Dollar Retention (GDR) and Net Dollar Retention (NDR)

  • Gross margin improvement through productization, AI leverage, and service optimization

  • Speed to value and product usage outcomes for Funder clients

  • Team effectiveness across product discovery, prioritization, and delivery

What Success Looks Like in Year One

  • A unified strategy across CyberGrants and Bonterra Grantmaker is operationalized, driving retention and NCA growth

  • Clear prioritization frameworks help the team focus on outcomes—not output

  • Future-looking product bets are explored and scoped, informed by customer insight and platform leverage

  • AI-powered enhancements are launched and aligned with monetization strategy

  • You are known as a decisive, strategic, and visionary leader—and a credible product voice in the CSR and philanthropy market
