OVERVIEW:

Bruker’s BNSM Division is the leader in advanced AFM, WLI (White Light Interferometry), Photomask Repair and X-ray technologies including XRR (X-ray reflectometry), XRF (X-ray fluorescence), XRD (X-ray diffraction), XRDI (X-ray diffraction imaging), XCD (X-ray Critical dimension), and & NI (Nano Indentation) technologies. Our customers’ reputations and success depend on our passion for solving their most complex measurement problems.

We are looking for a talented scientist and project lead to join our Korea semiconductor team to introduce and support WLI (White Light Interferometry) metrology systems.

Responsibilities

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Play a project lead role for WLI product and work with Sales/Application staff to ensure product success during JEP, installation, setup, and new application development.
  • Primary customer applications expert for WLI metrology.
  • Manage Project engagement and progress at customer sites.
  • Provides technical expertise through customer consultation, product demonstrations, installation, and maintenance of company products.
  • Assists customers with assessing potential applications to meet process metrology needs and preparing detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer applications/solutions.
  • May build an application based on customer requirements to demonstrate feasibility of the application, often requiring rapid prototyping and/or product demo for client.
  • May provide software development and consultation to prospective users and/or product capability assessment and validation.
  • Support of the core WLI engineering and production teams in qualification of new technologies, algorithms, methodologies, software, and hardware features.
  • Ensures that the product application/solution is functioning according to specifications including source inspection of the tools prior to shipment and following installation.
  • May provide follow-up support to company sales staff and customer personnel by disseminating technical information on specific applications.
  • Will work with our customers from prior to the sale, through delivery and installation.
  • Work in close cooperation with our factory engineers and scientists.

Qualifications

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Degree in material science, chemical engineering, chemistry, or physics (B.Sc. minimum, M.Sc. or PhD is preferred).
  2. Prior experience in a semiconductor fab, preferably with semiconductor metrology systems.
  3. Familiarity with metrology and characterization techniques (preferably hands-on work and results analysis). Experience in optical film analysis of the different metrology techniques preferred.
  4. Experience as application engineer on Optical metrology technology (WLI) is a plus.
  5. Good knowledge of statistics and data analysis.
  6. Fluent in English and experience in technical writing
  1. Demonstrated oral & written communications and interpersonal relationship skills, particularly intercultural skills, strong customer orientation.
  2. Ability to work and be creative under pressure and with tight deadlines.
  3. Self-organized and self-disciplined. Ability to work alone and within a team environment to solve problems. Experience working in the semiconductor industry and familiarity with problem analysis and troubleshooting techniques.

Position is located at Korea/Cheonan, Hwasung, and Icheon.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Prior experience working in a semiconductor fab as an employee or supplier.
  • Positive “can do” attitude, a highly motivated self-starter.
  • Relishes working in a performance-driven environment
  • Very strong interpersonal skills and ability to interface with internal and external customers and support groups within Bruker
  • Resourceful, proactive, meticulous.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to achieve shared goals, but also equally comfortable working independently when required.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Goal oriented with good track record in achieving targets.
  • Strong technical background - able to understand the problems that our customers are trying to solve, understanding of the customer’s current and future metrology requirements, and able to recommend new metrology opportunities to Bruker.
  • Solid understanding of semiconductor metrology requirements.
  • Able to travel internationally on short notice. Expect 50% - 80% travel. Main work site is customer’s designated area like Cheonan & Hwasung (Samsung) and Icheon (SKHynix).
