Job Purpose:
CBTS is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior AWS Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior AWS Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of AWS cloud infrastructure, with a focus on AWS infrastructure, app deployment, and data storage environments. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the availability, scalability, and security of cloud-based systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy innovative solutions that align with business requirements.
Essential Functions:
- Design and implement Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud solutions, specifically focusing on scalable, reliable, and cost-effective architectures to meet the client's business needs and technical requirements.
- Develop and deploy cloud infrastructure architecture, including Amazon VPCs, subnets, security groups, IAM roles and policies, and resource tagging strategies.
- Architect and optimize AWS networking components, including Elastic Load Balancers (ELB), AWS Transit Gateway, and VPN or Direct Connect solutions.
- Facilitate the deployment of applications and AWS services such as EC2, Elastic Beanstalk, Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), and AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) integrations.
- Design and implement data storage solutions using Amazon RDS, S3, DynamoDB, and other relevant AWS storage services.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration of applications with AWS services.
- Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues, ensuring efficient resource utilization and optimal system performance.
- Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies for AWS-based systems using services like AWS Backup and cross-region replication.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in AWS cloud technologies.
- Maintain detailed documentation of AWS configurations and processes.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Education: Four years of college resulting in a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
Certifications, Accreditations, Licenses:
- Recent AWS certifications.
Relevant Work Experience: 8 to 10 years in a related field.
Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proven experience working as an AWS Cloud Engineer or Cloud Solutions Architect.
- In-depth knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) offerings, infrastructure components, and networking concepts.
- Experience with cloud migration, hybrid cloud solutions, and multi-cloud architectures.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using AWS CLI, Boto3, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
- Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines in an AWS environment using services like CodePipeline, CodeBuild, or third-party tools like Jenkins.
- Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and experience implementing security controls using AWS security services (e.g., AWS WAF, GuardDuty, Security Hub).
- Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and provide effective solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Relevant AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional, or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer are a plus.
