Position Description

The Proposal Specialist shares responsibility for the strategic development and the execution of concise, compelling, customer-focused written materials that promotes CoverMyMeds’ manufacturer service offerings with clear statements of value to current and potential customers.

The Proposal Specialist is directly responsible for supporting the proposal team by ensuring accurate and complete content, reviewing their finalized product before submission and helping drive overall continuous improvement in proposal submissions and processes. The Specialist will work collaboratively across all business unit segments to help ensure we are accurately and persuasively representing CoverMyMeds’ solutions and value throughout our proposal responses. The Proposal Specialist will support metrics, quality tracking and proposal responses.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Development & Maintenance (50% of time)

Write, edit and proofread proposal content inclusive of question-and-answer pairs as well as charts, graphs and data, and Slides

Build and maintain relationship with business partners to proactively ensure the quality and accuracy of content on an ongoing basis. This includes, but is not limited to, the proposal team, subject matter experts, business development, marketing, and leadership

Facilitate regular content reviews to ensure updated and accurate content for use by the proposal team

Assist proposal analysts in creating ad hoc responses as needed and updating content database as needed

Identify gaps in content and rectify as appropriate

Manage proposal response templates to ensure they are accurate and consistently evolving

Proposal Reviews (30% of time)

Complete proofreading for essentials such as spelling, grammar and punctuation

Ensure final proposals meet branding and style requirements

Confirm the final submission is an accurate representation of the key stakeholder needs, customized solution being recommended, as well as the solution value to the client.

Participate in feedback reviews with proposal analysts and other key stakeholders, as appropriate, to drive continuous improvement

Proposal Quality (20% of time)

Regularly engage in targeted activities designed to enhance the proposal process as well as quality of proposal submissions to promote the CoverMyMeds value proposition and capabilities. This includes but is not limited to, proposal writing training courses, participation in client meetings, engagement with key CoverMyMeds stakeholders, etc.

Support reporting activities that measure productivity and quality

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree – preferably in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing or related field
  • Four (4) years supporting proposal activity to assist a business line and/or team with key client strategic pursuits in support of strategic growth and winning work or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Critical Skills

  • Four years progressive proposal management or marketing experience including proposal development and management, project management, analysis and marketing communications.
  • Preference for APMP certification.
  • Preference for pharmaceutical manufacturing or pharmaceutical services industry
  • Previous experience in supporting a sales team with unique sales solutions, proposal support, client engagement, and industry knowledge.
  • Experience in the specialty healthcare or pharmaceutical segment with understanding of healthcare continuum and relationship between manufacturers, providers, and payers
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with collaboration skills and ability to influence others; ability to build credible relationships across multi-business units, management teams, business partners, current and prospective clients
  • Knowledge of proposal best practices, research processes, analysis, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent grammar, vocabulary, research, writing and editing skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM Software such as Salesforce.com and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong prioritization, time management and project management skills
  • Ability to function independently, demonstrate flexibility, as well as the ability to work effectively with internal and external teams
  • Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$70,700 - $117,800
