CoverMyMeds is looking for a Sr Associate Data Engineer to join a unique team within our Data Engineering organization that focuses on transactional data, helping transform analytics and master data to feed back into production applications. This is a junior-level role that blends data engineering with elements of application development, making it ideal for someone with experience or exposure to relational databases, ETL processes and cloud-native technologies like Azure Data Factory, Databricks and Postgres. You'll collaborate closely with application teams, buildin data models that directly support production traffic, so familiarity or understanding of REST APIs would be a plus.

* Our preferred candidate must reside in the Columbus, OH area. Position allows for primarily working from home, with occasional in-office time.

What You'll Do:

The Sr Associate Data Engineer will support and expand the data platforms that process, store, and organize the data critical for the production application teams. This role will participate in the technical strategy and execution to provide trusted, stable, reliable, responsive, and secure solutions and proactively inform business partners on Data & Analytics platform and product health, and problem resolution. The Sr Associate Data Engineering will work with our Data Systems Analysts and our software engineering partners to solve business problems and deliver solutions.

Position Description:

  • Under the guidance of a senior engineer, design and develop solutions and commissions of complex data across systems for McKesson/CoverMyMeds internal and external customers

  • Develop Data Ingestion and Integration pipelines from various sources to application data stores

  • Work with databases, files and unstructured data to identify, transport and quality test the data required to drive our data synchronization tasks to perform regular and incremental loads of data

  • Write program/code in SQL and / or cloud based tools such as Snowflake or Databricks to cleanse, apply business logic and standardize the data according to business rules, enabling more effective data governance along with clear and efficient end-user reporting

  • Design conceptual data model based on business reporting requirements, interacting with business partners to understand the business logic and end-use of the data

  • Work with the application development teams to determine data flow in the source system and architect an appropriate flow into productions systems.

Skills You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in. Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, and typically has 2+ years of relative technical and professional experience

  • Strong, hands-on experience as a technologist working with data warehouse solutions, cloud technology, relational databases and dashboarding tools such as Postgres, SQL Server, Databricks, Qlik, Kafka, etc.

  • Worked with structured and unstructured data and within batch and real-time data streaming environments

  • Experience supporting OLTP Applications, Real time Analytics, Systems Integration, and Data Governance

  • Demonstrated expertise in database design and modeling for transactional systems

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; timely communication with clear expectations; an active listener and clear communicator; can lead by influence.

Preferred Skills:

  • Expert knowledge of cloud data technologies

  • Experience with business-critical applications

  • Experience on large-scale implementation programs

  • Ability to find creative solutions to complex problems

  • Exhibit a strong sense of urgency and ownership for task/project completion

  • Highly adept at working collaboratively across multiple business and technical functions to achieve results

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$80,600 - $134,400
