Our ideal candidate will be based in Austin, Texas to work from our office several days per week to foster close collaboration with the Time To Pet team.
Position
We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our team. The position will lead the development of new features and maintain the existing codebase that helps tackle challenging and important problems impacting thousands of local pet care providers who rely on Time To Pet to run their business in real time. The ideal candidate will be able to operate well in ambiguity and come to a great solution. As a Full Stack Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain our platform, using JavaScript and PHP.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-quality new features with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Maintain the existing code base by fixing bugs and making improvements as needed.
- Collaborate with development team to ensure the successful delivery of software features and updates.
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, with a focus on best practices and coding standards.
- Map real-world customer issues to product solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and other collaborative activities to ensure the quality and consistency of our codebase.
- Contribute to the development of our technical roadmap, with a focus on innovation, efficiency, and growth.
- Stay current with the latest trends and best practices in web development, and continuously improve your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years developing web apps with PHP, JavaScript (Vanilla JavaScript) or similar frameworks (vue.js, react, etc., preferably at technology companies).
- Exposure/experience with Laravel.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Comfortable navigating large codebases and relational databases at scale.
- Driven and self-disciplined with the ability to own projects from start to finish.
Preferred
- Experience with AlpineJS and/or jQuery.
- Experience developing cloud ready (AWS) products and/or migration products to the cloud.
- Experience working remotely.
- Knowledge of and experience building out a REST API.
Salary
The salary for this role is $120,000 - $145,000 per year. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, internal equity, etc.
