Your Impact
As a System Test Development Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, stability, and performance of Cisco’s enterprise wireless platforms. You will design and execute comprehensive system-level tests that validate our products in real-world scenarios, directly influencing customer satisfaction and the evolution of our technologies. - Design, develop, and execute solution, scale, and performance tests for Cisco wireless platforms and products.
- Collaborate with firmware engineers, SREs, and product managers to build and validate robust wireless workflows and architectures.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve complex system-level performance bottlenecks and issues.
- Create and maintain detailed test plans to ensure end-to-end system validation, including edge cases.
- Lead and mentor team members, sharing best practices and fostering a culture of quality and innovation.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in software or system quality assurance focused on enterprise wireless or networking products.
- Advanced scripting or automation skills using Python for test setup, orchestration, or data analysis.
- Proficiency with Linux systems and command-line tools for test execution and log analysis.
- Deep knowledge of Layer 2/3 networking protocols (e.g., Wireless LAN Controllers, Access Points, 802.11x, Wi-Fi 6E/7, VLAN, DHCP, IPv4/6).
- Hands-on experience using traffic generators such as IXIA for performance and scale testing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with automated test frameworks.
- Experience debugging complex system-level issues and collaborating across product, development, and QA teams.
- Exposure to Cisco Wireless products or other enterprise-class networking hardware/software.
- Cisco certifications such as CCNP, CCNA, or CCIE.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to mentor and lead by example.
