Meet The Team

You’ll join a collaborative, cross-functional team covering Healthcare customers in the German public sector. Reporting to the Senior SE Manager, you will work alongside Customer Systems Engineers and broader Cisco teams. You will foster innovation, drive solution adoption, and deliver lasting value to customers who are often thought leaders within their sectors.

Your Impact

As a Portfolio Systems Architect (Public Sector), you’ll be a key technical advisor and architect for the healthcare sector in Germany. You’ll drive the adoption of Cisco’s latest portfolio - networking, security, cloud, automation, and collaboration - by designing innovative solutions tailored to the unique challenges of the public sector, including navigating complex regulatory landscapes, ensuring the resilience of critical clinical systems, and enabling secure telemedicine and IoT in healthcare (IoMT) initiatives. Acting as a trusted advisor, you’ll shape the technical strategy for your accounts, accelerate digital transformation, and ensure the highest value from Cisco’s offerings, ultimately contributing to improved patient outcomes and more efficient healthcare delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as lead technical architect and trusted advisor for Cisco's networking, security, cloud, and automation portfolio, with a focus on public sector and healthcare-specific requirements such as data privacy, regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, German healthcare laws), and integration of medical-grade infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with Account Teams to develop and implement customer-focused strategies, proactively generating new business and aligning technology solutions to business goals through customer engagement, workshops, and industry events.
  • Analyze customer environments and requirements, translating complex clinical and operational needs into secure, compliant Cisco architectures for systems like EHR/EMR, PACS, and telemedicine.
  • Present and demonstrate Cisco solutions, working closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver integrated, future-ready solutions that highlight unique value for public sector organizations.
  • Drive deal progression by mobilizing resources and accelerating the sales cycle, while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships and credibility through deep industry knowledge and technical expertise.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience as a Systems Engineer or similar technical role in the networking or IT industry
  • Demonstrated understanding of healthcare IT environments, including critical applications, medical device integration, and patient data privacy considerations.
  • Strong expertise in Cisco networking (wireless, switching, routing), software-defined networking (SDN), and automation
  • Proficiency with SASE architectures and cloud technologies (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS); experience designing secure, scalable hybrid environments
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, large-scale projects involving multiple technologies and integration points
  • Fluent in German and English: excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence technical and business audiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • Specific experience with healthcare IT standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR) and regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, local German healthcare data protection laws).
  • Experience with technologies relevant to healthcare, such as telemedicine solutions, medical device security, and IoT in healthcare (IoMT).
  • In-depth knowledge of Cisco’s portfolio, strategic direction, and industry best practices
  • Cisco certifications (CCNP, CCDP, CCIE) highly desirable
  • Hands-on experience with network automation and programmability (e.g., Python, APIs, infrastructure as code)
  • Strong consultative sales skills, with a focus on understanding customer needs, industry trends, and emerging technologies
  • Outstanding relationship-building, organizational, and multitasking abilities
