We will only consider applicants based in Poland and returning to full time study upon completion of the summer internship.
Your Impact
As a backend Software Engineer, you will experience Splunking and what defines our culture while honing the skills which separate our development teams from others. You will get to work with smart and hardworking individuals who are doing state of the art development work in areas of machine learning, artificial intelligence, data analytics, infrastructure and event correlations across silos to build best-in-class business analytics software.
- Design, develop, code and test software systems, or applications within the scope of a contained, end-to-end project.
- Contribute through participation in agile development of project timelines, implementation design specifications, system flow diagrams, documentation, testing, and ongoing support of systems.
- Work under the close supervision of a mentor with weekly check-ins.
Minimum Qualifications
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or a related technical field, and a strong record of academic achievement
- Proficiency in at least one of the following programming or scripting languages: such as C++, Go, or Python with evidence of recent (within the past 12 months) coursework, projects, or work experience.
- At least one semester/quarter remaining to complete after the internship
- Available to work 40 hours a week for 12 weeks (July-September)
- Local to Krakow Splunk office and available to come into office minimum 3 days per week
- Must be legally allowed to work in Poland
Preferred Qualifications
- Coursework and project experience related to Machine Learning and AI concepts
- Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, GIT or public cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Exposure to working with REST APIs
- Understanding of distributed systems and system design concepts
- Familiarity with test-driven development, writing various levels of automated tests, such as unit test, functional test, integration test, system test, or performance / load test
- Experience in QA, testing, and/or debugging
- Experience collaborating and problem solving with others in a fast-paced environment
- Able to learn new technologies quickly
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written
