Figma is growing our team of passionate people on a mission to make design accessible to all. Born on the Web, Figma helps entire product teams brainstorm, design and build better products — from start to finish. Whether it’s consolidating tools, simplifying workflows, or collaborating across teams and time zones, Figma makes the design process faster, more efficient, and fun while keeping everyone on the same page. From great products to long-lasting companies, we believe that nothing great is made alone—come make with us!
As Figma’s Product Design team grows, we need to scale and grow our operations practice in order to better support our Designers and product teams. You will work closely with the Systems team which works horizontally across all Figma products (Figma, FigJam, Figma Slides + future products) and the respective development teams. We are looking for someone to help coordinate particularly complex cross-team initiatives, and to lead our design system’s processes. You will partner with design leaders, product managers and engineering managers to help launch some of the most impactful design tools in the industry.
The Design Program Management role is new to Figma and we are looking for someone with deep Design Program Management experience to help write the playbook for other DPM roles we aim to open in the future. This is a very exciting time to be a part of a fast paced and growing team!
This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.
What you'll do at Figma:
- Provide guidance and support for cross-functional product groups, connecting disparate teams to create cross-product patterns and processes.
- Ensure that new projects are socialized with the right stakeholder across pillars, enabling effective planning and buy in.
- Run sprints to ensure the Systems teams and other product teams are working in tandem while developing & designing the product.
- Prioritize the needs of the team through resource management and project prioritization across the Systems team, including Designers from other cross-functional teams.
- Run weekly team crits and assist with prioritizing feedback from crits with Figma executives.
- Identify and predict potential obstacles and risks to projects; seek to implement solutions and problem solve effectively using decision making frameworks to drive swift resolutions.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- 4+ years of design program management experience, specifically establishing methods and processes, implementing systems, and supporting team-wide initiatives.
- Hands on experience with design tools and design systems, including Figma.
- Experience running large scale projects using agile and/or scrum processes, in collaboration with development teams.
- A successful track record of creating and managing impactful design programs and processes that align with overall business objectives.
While it's not required, it's an added plus if you also have:
- Deep technical understanding of how design systems are built and scaled.
- Worked in a startup environment where the leadership team is highly involved in all stages of the product and design process.
- The ability to drive focus and productivity in uncertain situations or without complete information.
- An understanding of the design process, from ideation to execution; and experience executing designs during any part of this process.
- A history of influencing cross-functional stakeholders, partners and executives.
