Role at a Glance

As Gecko’s first Visual Storyteller, you will be instrumental in capturing and crafting engaging video content to elevate the stories we tell at Gecko - from products (AI + Robotics) to the people that power them, to the built world we rely on. With a focus on video creation and editing, you should be eager to learn and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Must be a highly skilled video producer with a clear cinematic vision and a passion for filmmaking. The ideal candidate will have a strong visual portfolio showcasing their expertise in camera operation, lighting for interviews, and professional editing processes. This role demands technical savviness and creative flair to deliver Studio-grade quality productions.

What You’ll Do

  • Execute a diverse range of video projects, including event coverage, social media videos, customer testimonials, and polished ads.

  • Exhibit a strong sense of style and cinematic vision in all works.

  • Demonstrate flexibility with editing styles, from retention-focused social media content to high-quality advertisements.

  • Collaborate on gear acquisition to continually enhance production quality.

  • Travel as required to capture compelling footage of our products and people in the field.

  • Oversee the entire video production process, including planning, filming, and editing.

About You

Looking for someone with the ambition and capability to take ownership of projects and push the creative boundaries of our video content. On site, in offices, at events. Filming, photographing, documenting and creating the content to tell the stories that move the needle most.

Responsibilities

  • Capture and edit video content for ads, social media, and product demos to drive brand growth.

  • Travel to locations around the US and world to film our AI, robotics, and team in action.

  • Collaborate with teams to develop creative campaigns that align with our brand and strategic goals.

  • Coordinate and Direct people on site to achieve excellent visuals.

  • Stay updated with industry trends and new video editing software to ensure high-quality content output.

Required Skills

  • Strong visual storytelling abilities.

  • Experience in videography and video editing.

  • Familiarity with photo and video editing software like Lightroom, DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.

  • Excellent communication, cross-collaboration, and teamwork skills.

  • Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to own and manage multiple projects.

  • Portfolio showcasing photo and video projects.

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to new situations quickly and efficiently.

  • A willingness to engage in fieldwork across challenging environments.

Preferred Skills

  • Graphic design experience

  • 3D modeling experience

  • Animation experience

  • Sound design experience

  • Interest in drone operation, with a willingness to obtain pilot certification..
