POSITION OVERVIEW

The Systems Engineer I supports systems design, test, and analysis in support of product development and manufacturing. This position requires on-site work at Gentex facilities. This role is not eligible for remote work.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Support systems design in a cross-functional engineering team to develop and launch new products.
  • Contribute to system architectures including interface definition and description.
  • Conduct system tests using procedures and methods for system verification and validation.
  • Learn analysis and simulation tools to aid in system design and test.
  • Participate in cross-functional design reviews.
  • Follow Gentex system engineering processes and ensure products meet Gentex quality standards.
  • Stay current with technology, manufacturing, and industry trends to drive continuous improvement of products, process, and methods.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Analytical thinking - Tackling a problem by using a logical, systematic, and sequential approach.
  • Problem solving - Defining a problem, determining the cause, identifying, prioritizing and selecting alternatives for a solution, and implementing a solution.
  • Situational adaptability -Ability to work with evolving systems, processes and structures, demonstrating the flexibility to adapt to changing environments, requirements and regulations.
  • Communicating Effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey clear understanding, taking into account the unique needs of different audiences.
  • Maintaining a high level of honesty, integrity, and confidentiality with respect to company matters.
  • Complying with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace.

WHAT TO BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

WHAT WILL HELP

  • Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
  • Professional work experience in new product development.
