POSITION OVERVIEW
The purpose of the Benefits Manager III is to administer and provide benefits and wellness programs to team members at all levels in the Company. This role is also responsible for ensuring benefits programs are competitive, cost effective and legally compliant.
This position is working onsite at a Gentex facility Monday-Friday. There is no hybrid or remote schedules.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Develop specifications for new benefit plans or modifications of existing plans.
- Measure the cost effectiveness of benefit programs, ensure benefits programs are aligned with corporate culture and provide recommendations to Senior Leadership.
- Research, evaluate and compare existing company benefits to keep Gentex benefits competitive in the community.
- Manage relationships, performance and contracts with benefits vendors including Medical, Dental, Vision, Wellness, Adoption, On-site Clinic, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, FSA , HSA., Critical Illness, Accident, Hospital Indemnity, Executive Physical Program, External consultants, 401k, and Deferred Compensation Plan.
- Oversee and support Gentex Wellbeing programs.
- Coordinate use of consultants in implementing and managing benefits programs.
- Oversee the implementation process for new vendors, programs and/or audits.
- Ensure company is in legislative compliance in benefit administration and benefits documents are in legislative compliance with legal counsel.
- Oversee communication of benefit programs to all Gentex team members and covered dependents.
- Provide leadership, training, and resources in benefit administration.
- Maintain benefit files, records, and legal documents.
- Manage and oversee problem solving processes related to team member benefits. Serve as a member on committees for retirement plan meetings.
- Perform duties related to managing direct and indirect reports including recruiting, training/development and managing performance.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Planning and organizing - Planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals.
- Project management - Applying knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to manage and meet project requirements.
- Complying with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace.
- Maintaining a high level of honesty, integrity, and confidentiality with respect to company matters.
WHAT TO BRING
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Business, or another related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in the administration of insurance and/or retirement program management.
- 5+ years of project management experience.
- Leadership experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
WHAT WILL HELP
- Certification in Employee Benefits Specialist or Professional.
- SPHR Certification.
