We are seeking an experienced VP of Implementation to join Govini’s growing team and lead large, complex deployments and defense programs of record. As VP, Implementation, you will serve as a Program Manager and will be responsible for overseeing the development, execution, and delivery of a critical DoD software program with multiple workstreams. You will provide program strategy and leadership and serve as the primary point of contact for customer communications, owning government customer stakeholder management. You will leverage your experience managing complex projects with multiple sub-teams to set objectives, build cross-functional teams, communicate with stakeholders, and rapidly drive program lines of effort to completion.
In order to do this job well, you understand the importance of meticulous customer stakeholder management and close collaboration with project leads. You marry this with a strong technical background. You have experience running a large, complex government software program, leading cross-functional teams to deliver results for complex technology projects. Your ability to communicate plans clearly and coordinate across teams and stakeholders will be essential to achieving the desired outcomes. You are obsessed with building solutions to long standing problems with commercial technology and data.
This role is a full-time position located out of our office in Arlington, VA.
This role may require up to 25% travel
Scope of Responsibilities
- Own relationships with government customer stakeholders
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all program-related communications, managing internal and external stakeholders across the program
- Establish program execution strategy, milestones, and workstreams, ensuring clear understanding across cross-functional teams
- Oversee the master schedule for the program and manage program deliverables
- Ensure the program plan is clear, technical dependencies are understood and tracked, and staffing and resourcing are balanced to execute on teams' project plans
- Partner with go-to-market, product and engineering leaders to drive program execution, team velocity, and cross-functional collaboration
- Manage, unblock, and accelerate cross-team projects spanning multiple cross-functional initiatives
- Continuously evaluate and improve program and project management processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness
- Track and communicate program progress, defining efficient processes for status updates and proactively managing issues and obstacles
- Build trust with Govini teammates, vendors, partners, and potential customers, and work closely with users, vendors and government stakeholders through effective communication and meticulous follow-through
- Autonomously execute with a high degree of ownership
- Own the delivery of successful program outcomes
Required Skills
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years experience in program and project management, including experience leading or supporting defense programs of record
- Strong understanding of complex software implementations
- Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills
- Effective customer stakeholder management skills
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple work streams and manage competing priorities
- Ability to manage high-pressure situations and tight deadlines
Desired Skills
- Experience with the Software Acquisition Pathway acquisition process
- Experience in or exposure to the nuances of a startup or other entrepreneurial environment
- Experience leading or supporting software implementation on classified networks
