Job Description Summary

The purpose of this position is to plan and direct activities concerning quality improvement, quality systems development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products. Complete root cause analysis of internal production rejects and customer trouble reports. To ensure all Quality investigations are thorough and complete, with true root cause analysis, and assure all major and minor change points are controlled and completed in customers’ best interests. This is a fully on-site position at our Greenfield facility.

Duties & Responsibilities / % Time Spent Performing Duties

  • Support Production with Process Efficiency that includes Cost of Poor Quality activity: 75%
  • Support Customer Requests and Concerns: 5%
  • Trouble Shooting and C/M Implementation: 15%
  • Audit Processes and Documentation: 5%
  • Prepare Presentation to all Levels of Management: As needed
  • Prepare Data Documentation of IPPAARs and M/P Change Points: As needed
  • Support Production in Emergency Situations (equipment downtime): As needed
  • Brainstorm for alternative Quality Verifications: As needed
  • Other Duties as Assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):

  • 2 year College Degree in Mechanical, R&D, Quality, or Other Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience and education
  • Minimum of 2 years related work experience
  • Knowledge of computer systems and spreadsheets necessary to perform job duties

Preferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):

  • 4 year College Degree in Mechanical, R&D, Quality, or Other Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering Technology
  • Experience in injection molding, machining, automated assembly processes.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, high level of accuracy with Root Cause Analysis
  • Maintains clean and orderly work environment
  • Provides strong leadership to subordinate personnel
  • Interacts with various levels of associates
  • Analyzes technology, resource needs, market demand, and confers with all departments to assess feasibility of projects
  • Improves manufacturing proficiency levels to meet plant goals and objectives
  • Maintains knowledge of all processes, procedures, and equipment
  • Coordinates and recommends cost savings and efficiency ideas for the facility
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of organization needed
  • High level of technical ability and ability to successfully lead projects

Software:

  • Basic experience required in Glovia
  • Intermediate experience required in Windows, MSWord, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Basic experience in MiniTab preferred
  • Advanced experience with Excel preferred
