Hitachi, Ltd. Compliance Division is seeking a qualified and motivated candidate for the role of Regional Compliance Manager (RCM). The RCM will play a key role in supporting the implementation of the One Hitachi Compliance Program across all Hitachi Group companies in Europe, the Middle East, and South Africa (EMEA). This role is part of a broader regional compliance team and will report directly to the Lead Regional Compliance Manager.

The successful candidate will collaborate effectively with compliance teams and other departments, exemplifying ethical behavior that aligns with Hitachi Values.

What you’ll be doing

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance Program Implementation: Support the implementation of the One Hitachi Compliance Program across the designated regions.

  • Collaboration and Partnership: Work in partnership with compliance teams and other stakeholders, fostering a collaborative environment.

  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and manage compliance risks within the regions.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Influence and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels.

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as an SME on various compliance topics, such as Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABAC), Conflicts of Interest (CoI), etc.

  • Project Management: Lead or support compliance-related projects, including training initiatives, risk assessments, and monitoring activities.

  • Policy Development: Assist in the development, review, and implementation of Hitachi Group compliance related documents, such as policies, procedures and manuals.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and background:

  • Experience: Proven track record in addressing Ethics and Compliance (E&C) matters.

  • Influencing Skills: Ability to influence and engage stakeholders across the regions.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Cultural Sensitivity: Strong awareness and sensitivity to diverse cultures.

  • Work Ethic: A proactive approach and strong work ethic.

Required Technical Skills:

  • Experience:

    • Experience in Ethics and Compliance or Legal, preferably in an advisory role, project management.

    • Experience building partnerships with stakeholders.

    • Proven expertise in handling concerns management and supporting policy implementation.

  • Risk Management: Solid understanding of risk management principles.

  • Policy Interpretation: Ability to interpret policies and provide sound advice; experience in developing and updating compliance policies and procedures.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex data.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of audit processes, business integrity, and investigations.

  • Understanding of internal investigations and employee concerns programs.

Travel Requirements:

  • Minimal travel required; specific arrangements are negotiable.

Education:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
