Summary of the Position:
The Global Commodity Manager will lead strategic sourcing activities, engage cross-functional stakeholders, and drive value across quality, service, technical support, and commercial performance. The position requires a strong background in global strategic sourcing.
The ideal candidate brings market and product knowledge of industrial commodities and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, and international environment.
Location: On-site, Michigan City, Indiana

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field
- 2-5 years of experience in commodity/category management within a manufacturing setting (hardware, engines, fabrications, etc.)
- Proficiency in SAP required as well as analytical tools (PowerBI, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Experience with strategic sourcing in the manufacturing industry
- Demonstrated success in commercial negotiations, cost reduction, and contract negotiations via suppliers, vendors, and/or distributors
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s in Supply Chain or Engineering)
- Exposure to managing diverse supplier portfolios and international vendor relationships
- Strong presentation skills across global business settings
- Strong communication skills across all organizational levels and cultures
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a virtual and global team
- Project management experience with attention to deadlines and detail
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
Key Responsibilities:
- Commodity strategy to align with corporate quality, delivery, and cost initiatives.
- Collaborate with global stakeholders, manufacturing sites, and suppliers to execute category strategies
- Lead sourcing projects and drive execution to meet cost reduction and value creation targets
- Monitor commodity markets, analyze trends, and develop strategies backed by data and market insights
- Ensure consistent application of strategic sourcing processes and tools
- Lead procurement tenders and coordinate with legal on contract development and compliance
- Support supplier business reviews to evaluate performance in quality, delivery, cost, risks, and innovation
- Recommend and implement improvements to sourcing processes and procurement practices
- Maintain strong communication with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure strategy alignment
- Serve as a contributor in creating a LEAN-oriented and globally aligned sourcing function
