The Opportunity
Are you passionate about driving quality excellence and continuous improvement? Hitachi Energy is seeking a Quality Manager to oversee and enhance our quality systems across all functional areas for the Distribution Transformer factory in South Boston, VA. In this role, you’ll lead initiatives that ensure compliance with global standards, resolve customer concerns, support supplier quality, and foster a culture of operational excellence.
You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement robust quality processes, conduct audits, and lead training programs that elevate performance and reliability. Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Lead and continuously improve the Quality Management System
Administer quality policies and ensure documentation is complete and auditable
Manage customer complaints and drive corrective actions
Support supplier quality initiatives and collaborate with sourcing teams
Conduct compliance audits and ensure adherence to ISO and other standards
Implement global and local quality platforms and training programs
Maintain document management systems and support quality process efficiency
Guide and develop team members in alignment with HR policies
Your Background
Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 8 years of experience in manufacturing or engineering supporting quality management
Certified Six Sigma Green or Black Belt (or actively pursuing certification)
Certification as CQM or CQE nice to have
Strong leadership and change management skills
Experience with SAP and statistical tools like Minitab
Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts and tools
Proven ability to coach and develop high-performing teams
