Job Description:
Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Mechanical Wiring Lead - Pool Coordinator who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Batesburg, SC.
The Mechanical Wiring Team Lead is responsible for leading a team of technicians in the mechanical installation and routing of wiring systems in manufactured products. This includes ensuring proper layout, securing, and protection of wiring harnesses and components according to mechanical and engineering specifications. The Team Lead will coordinate daily tasks, ensure quality and safety standards are met, and support continuous improvement initiatives
Accountabilities:
- Manage the work and coordinate the activities of the mechanical wiring team.
- Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to guide wiring tasks.
- Ensure proper use of tools, fixtures, and materials in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Conduct inspections and verify mechanical integrity and compliance with specifications.
- Train and mentor team members in mechanical wiring techniques and safety practices.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve technical or process issues.
- Maintain documentation of work performed, issues encountered, and corrective actions taken.
- Promote a safe and organized work environment by enforcing safety policies and housekeeping standards.
- Must be flexible to work 2nd shift as business needs dictate.
Required skills/experience:
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical wiring assembly or harness installation in a manufacturing environment
- 1+ years of demonstrated informal leadership
- Strong understanding of mechanical assembly practices and blueprint reading.
- Familiarity with wiring harness routing, clamping, and protection methods.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with hand tools, pneumatic tools, and measuring instruments
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Working environment:
- Requires standing, bending, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Technical Certification or certification in mechanical assembly preferred.
Language:
