What you’ll be doing

The role will be responsible for ongoing team performance management to ensure the effective operation of Record to Report business processes and adherence to pre-defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and KPIs, compliance to audit and regulatory requirements. The role will manage Month end close process, consolidation, and reporting of actual results. In addition, the role involves monitoring and reporting on team performance and identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to drive process efficiency and effectiveness in the Record to Report area.

Additionally, the role will act as an advisor and subject matter expert to other Hitachi Companies within Record to Report area.

Responsibilities

  • Provide effective line management (recruitment, performance management, coaching and mentoring etc) to direct reports

  • Ensure that effective personal performance and development reviews are carried out periodically with all team members

  • Manage Month end close process, Consolidation, Reporting acctual results and preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliation

  • Approve selected Balance Sheet reconciliations

  • Administer banking acceses

  • Approve selected payments

  • Support E&Y audit and Internal Audits

  • Provide input into the development of finance policies and processes and ensure that policies are followed

  • Maintain existing and develop new Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the team to meet the performance targets

  • Continuously monitor KPI performance and take remedial action where required to ensure performance standards are met

  • Implement regular, structured communication processes with key stakeholders to update them on team performance, risks and issues

  • Respond promptly to queries from stakeholders and take actions to resolve them

  • Support discussions on non-routine Transactions/Issues (e.g. new business, new processes etc.)

  • Actively supports company change programs and acts as a role model for solution selling

  • Provide advisory and subject matter expertise to other Hitachi OpCos

What you bring to the team

We’re looking for a team player, who is motivated by delivering great work and the Hitachi vision and willing to take responsibility. The role can be based in Krakow or remote in Poland.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and background:

  • Experience of the Record to Report process and industry leading practices

  • Experience of working directly with multiple countries and cultures in a finance capacity

  • Experience of working with IFRS principles

  • ACCA or CIMA qualification would be an asset

  • Knowledge of internal finance processes of a multinational company

  • Prior experience of supporting development of finance shared services centre

  • Prior technology sector experience

  • Experience of Sarbanes Oxley compliance implementation

  • SAP knowledge would be an asset

  • Fluent English
