The opportunity
We are currently seeking a leader for our newly established Distribution Automation (DA) Delivery Center. This role involves developing and launching the center to meet global market expectations for quality, delivery performance, lead times, flexibility, and customer proximity. Once operational, you will take full responsibility for managing the delivery center and will be part of the Distribution Automation Leadership Team, working in close collaboration with GPG AC Operations and Supply Chain Management (SCM). The Distribution Automation team is part of the Global Product Group Automation and Communication (AC), which operates within Hitachi Energy’s Grid Automation business unit—specializing in automation and communication solutions for critical infrastructure sectors such as energy generation, power transmission and distribution, transportation, and various industrial applications. How you’ll make an impact
- Establish the DA delivery center and manage its P&L
- Transform and adapt the processes of the DC for meeting the needs and growth of the DA business and the customers
- Orchestrate the demand fulfilment process end-to-end, from tendering to order management and after sales
- Be the focal point for our customers with respect to demand fulfilment
- Be instrumental in establishing our future eCommerce solution within the distribution automation segment
- Establish close collaboration with peers in GPG AC, in particular with Sales, Operations and SCM
- Ensure that market-based forecasts are captured by the GPG AC Sales & Operations planning team
- Support integration of potential acquisition targets within the DA segment
- Manage special customer activities such as audits, visits, FATs and alike
- Ensure and govern state-of-the-art capabilities with respect to safety, quality, delivery and cost
Your background
- Demonstrated strength in organizational, communication, and leadership capabilities.
- Strategic mindset with a proven ability to drive change and foster international collaboration, ideally gained through successful roles focused on business growth.
- Broad cross-functional expertise, including sourcing, customer service, production, logistics, after-sales, and general management.
- Relevant experience in the energy sector or grid automation.
- Proficient in developing budgets and business plans.
- Strong negotiation skills in both internal and external environments.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Supply Chain/Operations Management, or a related field.
- Fluent in English.
