This is a hybrid role based in Raleigh, NC.
How you'll make an impact
- Lead Primary engineering activities across the full project lifecycle.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and external partners
- Serve as the primary technical contact for Primary Engineering
- Drive innovation and cost-effective solutions in proposals
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and contract standards
- Support commissioning and construction phases
- Evaluate risks and implement mitigation strategies with Project manager Engineering
- Promote continuous improvement and process optimization.
- Develop base and detailed design documents and drawings based on customer requirements.
- Lead the development of new solutions for complex projects.
- Drive the completion of all engineering activities on projects.
- Create work plans and cost estimates, ensuring quality deliverables.
Your background
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical /mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3+years of experience in electromechanical engineering.
- Strong proficiency in developing single-line diagrams, Layout, detail design for various bus configuration.
- Knowledge in substation design calculations, including grounding, short-circuit forces, cable ampacity, cable and conduit schedules, Auxiliary AC and DC design and related engineering software tools.
- Comprehensive understanding of NEC, ANSI/IEEE standards, and high‑voltage air‑insulated and gas‑insulated substation technologies.
- Experience working with FACTS technologies such as synchronous condensers, STATCOM, SVC, and series capacitors.
- Background in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) project environments.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% both domestically and internationally.
- Must have valid work authorization permitting employment with Hitachi Energy in the United States.
- Proficient in BIM / Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and Revit for 3D modeling.
- Possesses a Professional Engineering (PE) license or the ability to obtain one.
