Step into a role where technology meets innovation on the factory floor. Hitachi Energy is seeking a Factory IT/OT Support Specialist to join the team in South Boston, VA. In this dynamic position, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of both IT and operational technology (OT) systems that power manufacturing operations.
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.
This opportunity blends hands-on technical support with cybersecurity awareness, giving you exposure to both office IT systems and critical shop floor technologies. You’ll work across a range of systems—from collaboration tools to industrial equipment—while partnering with global teams to maintain a secure and efficient environment.

How you'll make an impact
Provide onsite support for factory IT and OT systems and users
Support collaboration tools, meeting rooms, and shared technology areas
Maintain and troubleshoot shop floor devices (scanners, kiosks, printers, MES hardware)
Execute IT/OT cybersecurity operational tasks and apply security measures
Act as first responder for cybersecurity incidents and coordinate with response teams
Monitor and report unusual OT system behavior or potential threats
Identify and protect critical factory assets through monitoring and patching
Collaborate with vendors to maintain and secure systems
Your background
Formal qualification or apprenticeship in information technology
Minimum 2 years of professional IT support experience
Familiarity with IT/OT environments or industrial systems
Strong communication skills in English and local language
Proactive, solution-oriented, and able to work independently
Knowledge of tools such as ServiceNow, Microsoft 365, Windows, iOS, and asset management systems (ITIL preferred)
