Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

We are seeking a Camera System Firmware Engineer with strong expertise in Python, including Python GUI development. This role involves providing Python camera models and deep test infrastructure for our hardware. A system-level understanding of camera hardware is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Automation Framework Development: create and maintain test automation frameworks for our cameras using Python and Jython. These frameworks operate stand-alone (Python) and large tool software environment (Jython)

  • Scripting: develop automated test scripts for functional, regression and API testing.

  • Test Suite Integration: Develop camera interfaces for existing Labview test suites based on python. Develop engineering/scientific GUIs for data visualization using PyQt/PyQtGraph, or similar libraries.

  • Develop python test scripts for hardware interfaces in test benches. Power supplies, oscilloscopes, other test equipment

  • Collaborate with hardware, FPGA and firmware engineers to understand the camera systems and benches.

  • Prototype firmware using python and provide requirements to embedded software engineer. A deep understanding of C/C++ is required to be able to verify embedded code output

  • Debugging & Analysis: Identify, log, and track bugs to closure, analyzing test results to ensure high product quality.

Required Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in python development, with a strong system level understanding of embedded systems.

  • Deep familiarity with Windows and embedded Linux environments (timesys, petalinux, yocto)

  • Expertise in performance profiling, debugging, and system optimization.

  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical skills.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate (Academic) Degree and 0 years related work experience; Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 5 years
