Job Summary
Seeking a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist with experience in Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance to support full life-cycle recruiting activities. This role will focus on filling both exempt professional and management-level positions across a designated region. The ideal candidate will work independently, demonstrate strong sourcing and relationship management skills, and act as a mentor or resource to less experienced recruiting staff. This is a remote position but must reside within 50 miles of Columbus, OH Tulsa, OK or Roanoke, VA.
Responsibilities
Seeking a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist with experience in Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance to support full life-cycle recruiting activities. This role will focus on filling both exempt professional and management-level positions across a designated region. The ideal candidate will work independently, demonstrate strong sourcing and relationship management skills, and act as a mentor or resource to less experienced recruiting staff. This is a remote position but must reside within 50 miles of Columbus, OH Tulsa, OK or Roanoke, VA.
Responsibilities
- Partner with hiring managers and HR Business Partners to assess staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.
- Manage the full recruitment life cycle: sourcing, screening, interviewing, assessing, and extending offers for exempt and non-exempt roles.
- Utilize a variety of sourcing methods, including job fairs, online platforms, and community networks, to attract top talent.
- Collaborate with sourcing specialists to ensure a diverse pipeline of qualified candidates.
- Coordinate internal transfer processes, including interviews and offer letters.
- Ensure timely and professional communication with candidates and hiring managers throughout the hiring process.
- Deliver employment offers and communicate relevant employment terms (e.g., compensation, benefits, agreements).
- Ensure compliance with federal/state employment regulations and support affirmative action plan goals.
- Maintain accurate candidate records within the applicant tracking system (ATS).
- Contribute to onboarding and orientation processes for new hires.
- Lead or contribute to the development of annual Affirmative Action Plans.
- Recommend and implement process improvements for greater recruitment efficiency and compliance.
- Maintain industry knowledge through affiliations and memberships in professional organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of corporate recruiting experience for exempt professional and management-level roles.
- At least 3 years of experience working with applicant tracking systems and online sourcing tools.
- Familiarity with DOT compliance in recruiting processes.
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong business acumen and written/verbal communication skills.
- Experience in relationship management, consulting, and coaching.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Prior experience working in a multi-state recruiting environment.
- Involvement with diversity recruiting initiatives.
- Knowledge of affirmative action planning and implementation.
- Membership in relevant HR or recruiting professional organizations.
