Looking for Product Specialist contractor to function as a SME on enterprise systems, with advanced skills in administering WebSphere Application Server, cloud system administration (including Azure, AWS, and Google) and containerized application platform on Linux / AIX. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in a multi-tier and multi-platform enterprise class environments.

  • 8-10 hours per day
  • M-F core hours: 7a-6p (any 8-10 hours w/in those times)
  • Subject to On-Call (24/7 daily, 365 days a Year)

Knowledge
  • 10 years' experience required
  • 4 year college degree or equivalent - Computer Science
  • 10 years' highly available vertical / horizontal scaling, disaster recovery capabilities
  • 10 years' hands-on experience in a multi-tier and multi-platform enterprise class environments
  • 10 years' advanced skills in administering WebSphere Application Server, cloud system administration and containerized applications
  • 8 years' experience administering platforms like MuleSoft, RabbitMQ, Docker / Podman, Promethus, Azure CI / CD
  • 8 years' experience install, configure and deploy new WebSphere application servers on AIX and Linux
  • 8 years' experience deploying Containers, Microservices, Kubernetes, etc. both in on-prem and cloud
  • Strong knowledge of UNIX, Linux, Windows operating system and system administration tasks
  • Highly available vertical / horizontal scaling, disaster recovery capabilities
  • Single Sign On, network load balancer, firewall, IP subnets.
  • On-Prem monitoring tools like Splunk, Dynatrace,
  • Cloud monitoring capabilities like Azure Monitor
  • CI/CD pipelines: Jenkins, Nexis, Azure DevOps, etc.)
  • Version control subsystem like: Git, Subversion, etc.
  • Storage subsystem
  • Salesforce
  • Knowledge of application development, implementation and deployment experience.
  • Web services and data integration techniques, messaging and transformation.

Skills:
  • Experience performing system and software audits.
  • Assesses and analyzes business requirements, current state environment and technology choices to evaluate security solution alternatives that meet solution architecture needs and support enterprise requirements.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge and skills related to Cloud, IAM and privileged access management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, on both technical and non-technical topics
  • Prioritize tasks effectively to ensure that project deliverables and deadlines are met.
  • Advanced root cause analysis and written and verbal communications skills.
  • Experience supporting and participating in 24 X 7 on-call weekly rotation.
  • Experience handling and reacting to infrastructure alerts reacting quickly.
  • Communicate with clients, assisting them with their needs to ensure client satisfaction. Communicate the deployment/release schedule, release artifacts, priorities, and status to all stakeholders.
  • Coordinate releases with internal stakeholders.
  • Champion best practices and quality standards.
  • Participate in functional and technical meetings throughout the development lifecycle.

Abilities
WebSphere
  • Perform upgrades, patches, and fix security issues.
  • Monitor application performance, system performance, troubleshoot and diagnose issues and implement fixes.
  • Work closely with the development teams to design solutions, deploy and maintain application.
  • Install, configure and deploy new WebSphere application servers on AIX and Linux
  • Write and deploy shell scripts, automate tasks.
  • Experience with one or more web server setup Apache, IBM Http Server and IIS
  • Experience working with SSL and application security in WebSphere.
  • Troubleshoot, collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Participate in defining corporate implementation and integration strategies of new technologies.
  • Experience administering platforms like MuleSoft, RabbitMQ, Docker / Podman, Azure CI / CD.

Containers and Cloud Management
  • Work with cloud platforms Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
  • Experience support SaaS products in the cloud - Adobe enterprise, MuleSoft Cloud Integration
  • Deploy and manage containerized application in a cloud environment.
  • Understands clustered container orchestration configuration and setup of Kubernetes / OpenShift platform.
  • Work with cloud vendors and cloud hosting service providers and recommend infrastructure solutions.
  • Experience implementing security and best practices for cloud-based systems.
  • Experience deploying Containers, Microservices, Kubernetes, etc. both in on-prem and cloud.
  • Experience in deploying infrastructure as code using Azure CI/CD Pipe lines from Azure repos

Certifications or Desired skills if any
  • Certified in WebSphere, AIX / Unix, Linux, Azure CI/CD, Azure or AWS. RedHat Open Shit, Docker,
  • Python, Windows PowerShell and JavaScript is highly desired
  • Nice to have: Azure repos and Azure DevOps experience is highly desired
