Job Description:

The Director of FP&A is driven, organized, energetic and oversees our financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and analysis across business units as well as assists with the monthly close process. As FP&A owner of a broad program or multiple business units, you will provide support for senior leaders to facilitate strategic decision making and manage multiple internal relationships. This role is highly visible and challenging with multiple opportunities to interact with executive management. At times this role may have direct reports, depending on the size and scope of responsibilities. Regardless, this role will serve in an indirect leadership position as a senior member of FP&A, and you will be expected to mentor junior associates, model best practices, and help foster a culture of excellence, positivity and accountability.

What you’ll do:

  • Drive planning, forecasting, reporting, and analysis activities on weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual cadence.
  • Maintain and develop relevant financial models to project business performance and manage the associated data gathering and research process. Build robust reporting processes, with an eye for automation and simplification.
  • Analyze performance and develop monthly commentary for assigned business units that reflects a deep understanding of the business drivers and strategies. Ensure accurate and timely production of periodic financial reports and present them to senior leadership monthly.
  • Manage expenses and headcount across business units, providing visibility to senior leaders on staffing, capacity, and productivity metrics. Craft relevant KPIs to measure business performance.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with internal customers as their trusted finance partner, providing strategic thinking and analytical support.
  • Represent Finance in driving key strategic initiatives to enhance ROI.
  • Support accounting as needed in the monthly close process including branch margin analysis, allocations and other capital markets activities.
  • Provide ad-hoc support on various strategic initiatives to drive growth, efficiency and profitability.
  • Perform various other duties across the team, including mentoring other team members and establishing best practices.

Who you are:

  • Finance professional with at least 7-10 years of work experience in Accounting and/or Financial Analysis.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • A background in the mortgage industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial accounting, economics, and corporate finance.
  • Advanced modeling skills with Excel and other software. Proactive approach to building robust reporting processes with an eye for automation and simplification.
  • Comfortable analyzing large volumes of complex data and communicating findings concisely to diverse audiences. Utilizes strong business acumen to translate complex information into actionable insights.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. Able to set priorities and manage self and others to deadlines.
  • A work ethic based on a desire to exceed expectations.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving and a focus on building strong partnerships with internal customers and within the team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
