Senior Sales Engineers are technical consultants to clients, Zelta sales teams and/or Zelta Business Partners. They understand the client's business requirements, technical requirements and competitive landscape. Working under limited supervision, the Senior Sales Engineer is responsible for driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as a key technical advisor and product advocate. The Senior Sales Engineer must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to business, clinical, and technical users.They provide technical sales support which may include:
• Collaborate with Zelta sales teams to define, design, and detail the technical aspects and feasibility of proposed solutions.
• Deliver Proof of Concept and develop and deliver technical education.
• Support critical situations, design solutions, and answer technical questions.
• When engaged for a specific opportunity or project, they are responsible for the technical accuracy of the proposed solution.
Essential Job Duties:
Demonstrate product knowledge, domain expertise, oral and written communication, project management, client management, and time management skills.
Develop and deliver product demonstrations via web conference, on site meetings, trade shows, etc.
Support and respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs
Lead in the development of Proof-of-Concept activities
Deliver technical support to sales group
Provide input into the creation of sales and marketing materials
Act as a primary point of contact on structuring deals and contracts for potential customers
Provide internal team and external customer training as needed
Pursue a program of self-development using selected reading, seminars, and participation in continuing education.
Identify and communicate possible improvements in the platform for customers and peers to product management.
Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or upper management.
Manage the Statement of Work development process for non-standard services deals
Act as a mentor to Sales Engineers
Basic Qualifications:
Solid understanding of the clinical trial industry, clinical research, and/or healthcare background
Experience providing technical product demonstrations
Demonstrate an ability to generate creative solutions
Effectively explain concepts and technical solutions to both a novice and advanced audience
Excellent verbal and written communication, listening, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Technical writing experience
Ability to successfully work with various departments and levels of any organization
Effective in teaming with a broad range of colleagues across Merative and Zelta.
Reliable, dependable, and able to keep a consistent schedule.
Proactive, with excellent prioritization and task management skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Technical Skills:
Zelta or other database certification.
Clinical Data Management System or similar clinical trial technology proficiency required.
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
Basic experience with Salesforce or another similar solution.
Ability to understand Boolean logic and/or base programming.
Education & Travel Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training experience
5+ years in the clinical trial industry and/or experience as a sales engineer/trainer for a technical product.
Travel: 10-20%
