Merge medical imaging solutions, offered by Merative, combine intelligent, scalable imaging workflow tools with deep and broad expertise to help healthcare organizations improve their confidence in patient outcomes and optimize care delivery.

As a Technical Pre-Sales Consultant, this lead position plays a critical role in collaborating with the sales team as the technical and product Pre-Sales expert for Merge Imaging Solutions. The responsibilities include consulting with customers to understand their technical and business needs and expertly demonstrating Merge solutions to both prospective and existing customers.

As a lead, this role involves diligently capturing insights from product demonstrations and customer interactions, generating comprehensive customer-specific Solution Designs, including architectural and data flow diagrams, and crafting detailed Statements of Work that align with customer needs, budgets, and Merge product offerings. Additionally, the consultant will develop and contribute written content for the technical and product-related sections of RFPs, Solution Designs, and Sales Transition Documents. They will lead the review of proposals generated by the sales team to ensure completeness, technical accuracy, and delivery of the Merge design solution. Furthermore, providing strategic feedback to Solution Management for continuous improvement of Merge Imaging Solutions is a key responsibility. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive collaboration across teams to achieve common goals.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with sales representatives as a lead to develop and execute effective selling strategies for each opportunity.
  • Identifying and mitigating technical risks in large and complex sales opportunities.
  • Leading the design and architecture of complex, customized solutions that meet client requirements.
  • Design and deliver advanced, customized product demonstrations to showcase the capabilities and benefits of Merge Imaging Solutions.
  • Providing in-depth technical oversight and guidance throughout the sales cycle.
  • Collaborating with cross functional teams (i.e.. sales, product management, engineering) to align strategic goals and deliver exceptional client outcomes.
  • Lead the development of Solution Designs and Statements of Work based on customer needs, budget, and Merge product offerings.
  • As a subject matter expert, provide valuable feedback to product management based on client interactions, contributing to the continuous improvement and innovation of Merge Imaging Solutions.
  • Document customer goals, objectives, opportunities, and challenges, linking them back to Merge solution unique business values.
  • Mentor and train Pre-Sales consultants, proactively sharing best practices and technical knowledge as a thought leader.
  • Act as a key point of contact for product-related expertise, ensuring thorough understanding and communication of Merge Imaging Solutions.
  • Analyze the competitive landscape of each deal to properly position Merge’s UBVs and differentiators.
  • Lead staging and support staffing industry tradeshows.
  • Pursue a program of self-development through selected reading, seminars, and participation in continuing education.

  • Broad background and general knowledge of clinical, technical, administrative, and financial areas of healthcare environments.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering) or equivalent Work Experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical Pre-Sales or consulting role, preferably within the imaging solutions or healthcare IT industry.
  • Proven track record of leading technical discussions, product demonstrations, and “Proof of Concept” engagements with clients.
  • Understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Understanding of networking concepts, including LAN/WAN, VPN, firewall configurations, and network security protocols.
  • Advanced knowledge of enterprise imaging including but not limited to Vendor Neutral archive, PACS – Include from previous description.
  • Experience in integrating PACS with other healthcare IT systems, such as Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Radiology Information Systems (RIS)
  • Experience with healthcare environments, including interoperability, clinical workflows, and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Experience with various operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux) and software applications relevant to medical imaging.
  • Travel: Up to 75%
  • Must be located in the West to Central Region of the US.
