Mimecast is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Manager/Director to lead our Global Accounts Receivable (AR) & Collections team. This is a high-impact, people management role responsible for overseeing AR and Collections operations across three countries. Reporting directly to the Head of Global Customer Finance Operations, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing global cash flow, minimizing risk, and ensuring a world-class customer experience. As the leader of our global AR/Collections function, you will collaborate closely with Sales, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, and other cross-functional teams, and serve as a key customer-facing representative for customer finance operations. What You'll Do:

  • Global Leadership & Team Management
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global AR/Collections team across three countries, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
    • Set clear goals, monitor performance, and ensure alignment with Mimecast’s strategic objectives.
  • Accounts Receivable & Collections Operations
    • Oversee the end-to-end AR and Collections process, including payment collection, cash application, credit management, dispute resolution, and bad debt minimization.
    • Maintain and enforce global credit and collection policies, ensuring consistency and compliance across all regions.
    • Establish monthly collections targets, track progress and collaborate with FP&A to enhance forecast accuracy and working capital visibility.
  • Process Optimization & Technology Enablement
    • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives using platforms such as Salesforce, NetSuite, and HighRadius to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reporting.
    • Leverage data and analytics to monitor KPIs (e.g., DSO, DTC, AR Aging, etc.), identify trends, and implement corrective actions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with Sales, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Legal, and Customer Service to resolve disputes and support business growth.
    • Serve as the escalation point for complex customer issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution while maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Customer-Facing Engagement
    • Act as a key point of contact for strategic partners and customers regarding billing, collections, and payment arrangements.
    • Ensure a customer-centric approach in all AR/Collections activities, balancing risk management with exceptional service.
  • Compliance & Risk Management
    • Ensure adherence to internal controls, SOX compliance, and local regulatory requirements in all AR/Collections activities.
    • Proactively identify and mitigate credit risks, collaborating with internal stakeholders to safeguard company assets.

What You'll Bring:

  • Global People Leadership
    • Proven experience managing and developing diverse, geographically dispersed teams, with a strong track record of building trust, driving engagement, and delivering results across cultures and time zones.
  • Technical & Process Expertise
    • Deep understanding of end-to-end AR and Collections processes, including credit risk assessment, cash application, dispute management, and collections strategy.
    • Hands-on experience with NetSuite and HighRadius (or similar AR automation platforms) is highly preferred.
  • Analytical & Data-Driven
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, monitor KPIs, and drive process improvements using data-driven insights.
  • Collaboration & Communication
    • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with Sales, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Legal, and Customer Service teams.
    • Experience in customer-facing roles, with the ability to negotiate, resolve conflicts, and build long-term relationships with key partners and customers..
  • Cultural Intelligence
    • High degree of cultural sensitivity and adaptability, with the ability to lead and motivate teams across different regions and backgrounds.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in Accounts Receivable, Collections, or Credit Management, with at least 3 years in a global people management role.
  • Strong understanding of global credit and collections regulations, compliance, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated expertise with NetSuite and HighRadius (or similar AR automation platforms) preferred.

The US base salary range for this position is $128,000 - $192,000 base + benefits. This reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. This position may also be eligible for bonus, and other related benefits.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location. These factors and individual capabilities will also determine the individual pay offered.
