We understand the need to provide a flexible working environment partnered with team collaboration and socialization. Therefore, we operate a hybrid working model with 3 days per week in office. This role is based at our HQ in Solon, Ohio.
The Role:
Join a dynamic and fast-paced global legal team at MRI Software, a global leader in real estate technology. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Counsel to support our commercial, compliance, and data privacy operations. This role is based in Cleveland, OH and offers the opportunity to work with stakeholders across the business and around the globe.
Focused Areas:
- Commercial contracts - customers, vendors and partners
- Data privacy and security compliance
- Corporate dispute resolution
- Corporate organization and legal compliance
You Will:
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts including software licenses, procurement, and IT service agreements
- Serve as the first line of review for sales contracts
- Advise all levels of team members on the legal risks facing the organization on a day-to day basis.
- Support the Data Privacy team and respond to data subject access requests
- Assist with legal research, memo drafting, and confidential correspondence
- Support organization with legal department project coordination
- Handle confidential matters with discretion and sound judgment
- Perform other duties as assigned
You Have:
- Admitted attorney in the US with active membership and good standing
- Minimum of 5+ years post-admission experience
- Experience with Cloud/SaaS and enterprise software transactions
- Strong understanding of data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, Privacy Shield, POPI)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
- Strong work ethic and positive, goal-oriented attitude
- Strong analytical, strategic and creative thinking skills
- Detail oriented
- Ability to build and foster effective relationships with others
- Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- In-house experience at a global technology or large corporate company preferred
