As the Workday HRIS Sr. Manager on our People Operations team, you will have two important responsibilities: 1) to lead, develop and engage a team of HRIS professionals and 2) to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Workday technology platform. The position is both a strategic and hands-on role leading and facilitating the planning and execution of the HR operational processes and systems in Workday.
What you'll do:
Responsible for leading and optimizing Workday Human Capital Management functions to support strategic initiatives of the People Operations (PO) Team.
Lead, manage, develop & engage the Workday HRIS team, driving engagement and ensuring that service operations consistently meet or exceed stated Service Level Agreements and Operational Level Agreements internal and external to the PO Team.
Maximize Workday’s potential and align it with our business processes and those processes established by our finance team.
Communicate, plan and lead biannual system upgrades and identify additional features to be incorporated into the roadmap.
Stay abreast of new functionality becoming available in Workday and drive the testing, deployment and integration of feature releases.
Analyze existing business processes, conduct benchmark gap analysis, and contribute to the design and continuous improvement of workflows.
Utilize technical expertise and deep understanding of Workday to optimize processes, enhance system performance and guide the team to simple, effective solutions.
Research and recommend Workday functionalities that align with PO Team goals for all modules, including: Core HCM, Recruiting, Onboarding, Time Tracking, Absence Management, Advanced Compensation, Learning, Benefits, Talent Optimization and Payroll.
Lead or play a strong support role in projects and activities aimed at implementing best practices, driving business results, and fostering growth.
Guide the Workday HRIS team, and other PO Team areas of expertise, in identifying and adopting automation solutions where applicable.
Document and update business functional requirements and SOPs tied to Workday.
Collaborate with enterprise teams, including finance, security, IT, etc. facilitating effective communication, alignment and to develop Workday solutions that universally meet requirements.
Lead testing efforts to ensure that all Workday HCM functionalities deployed meet business requirements, SOPs and SLAs.
Identify internal and external change management needs to minimize user impact and enhance their experience.
Possess a comprehensive understanding of HCM data, provide insights into HCM reporting and analytics and assist PO Team members in making data based decisions for the company.
Assist functional areas on the PO Team with utilizing all Workday tools and creating meaningful reports to support the business.
Serve as a technical and strategic advisor to the People Operations team; consult with the team on best practices and provide guidance of key business processes.
Review, revise and manage team execution of HRIS processes for support requests.
What we need from you:
Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience; 2+ years experience in managing and optimizing Workday HCM/HRIS functions with 2 or more direct reports, with a strong understanding of business processes and technology capabilities.
Proven experience in collaborative problem solving, project management and matrixed collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Familiarity with Workday reporting and analytics across various modules including Advanced Compensation, Core HCM, Time Tracking, Absence Management, Benefits, Payroll, Recruiting and Learning and Talent Optimization.
Extensive experience and working knowledge of Workday including system design, calculated fields, configurations, business processes, advanced reporting and dashboard development.
Demonstrated passion around leading, training and developing people.
In-depth knowledge of Workday system and its modules, with a track record of leveraging technical expertise to improve processes and drive system performance.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct gap analysis and provide innovative, collaborative solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact and influence leadership and cross functional partners.

Proven ability to deal realistically with uncertainty and drive results with a sense of urgency.
Advanced level ability with Microsoft Excel; experience with Google Sheets a plus.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $150,000
Pay within this range varies by work location and on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. We look forward to discussing your salary expectations and our full total rewards offerings throughout the interview process.
Travel required: Occasional (2-4x per year)
