Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY: The Systems Engineer Manager is both a leader and individual contributor of the System Engineer (SE) Team with the primary goal to support the hosting Infrastructure. A Systems Engineer Team Lead will directly execute and manage team efforts/assignments for a wide variety of installation, configuration and upgrading of servers and related hardware and software in a LAN, WAN and stand-alone environment. This position also provides investigation, diagnostic testing and repair/resolution of various aspects of a Windows/VMware/Azure Local Infrastructure environment. This position will have direct reports. Direct reports include System Engineer I, II, III.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and directly participate in efforts for Design, Implementation, Tuning and Maintenance of an Enterprise Datacenter Environment consisting of a Large multiple domain Windows Infrastructure, multiple generations of Storage Arrays, Blade and Chassis technology, and virtualization.

  • Leads efforts to identify, Investigate, Plan and Implement replacing/upgrading current systems with new systems and analyzes the adaptability of current operations.

  • Leads process improvement within SE Team.

  • Patch management.

  • Supervises the administration of systems and servers to ensure availability of services to authorized users.

  • Develop procedures to prevent and reduce the severity of any outages; includes supporting disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

  • Managing assigned projects to deliver services in accordance with established objectives.

  • Respond to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel and outside vendor to provide technical assistance and support in a professional manner.

  • Approve team members’ vacation and sick time off requests, travel requests that exceed OSIS’ price range, timesheets and expense reports; conduct regular team and one on one meetings with staff; provide first line of support for team members’ workflow and process questions; communication of policy and procedure changes and ensure general adherence to the same; conduct team members’ evaluations.

  • Collaborate with other OSIS departments to meet the needs of the Members within the mission and goals of OSIS.

  • Other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, scanners, copy machines and filing cabinets. At times, this position may need to lift computer equipment unassisted at 100lbs.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ years of experience supporting a large enterprise IT infrastructure.

  • 7+ years implementing, supporting, and managing and leading efforts for virtualized environments.

  • 7+ years implementing, supporting, and managing Windows Servers.

  • 7+ years implementing, supporting, and managing enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions

  • 7+ years in infrastructure, servers, and storage architecture, troubleshooting and support.

  • 5+ years implementing, supporting, and managing a Remote Desktop Services farm.

  • 5+ years working with VMware Enterprise

  • Experience with Microsoft 365

  • Must demonstrate a security-minded focus and execution of all related MSP tasks and responsibilities.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the IT field

  • 3+ years working with Veeam Enterprise

  • VCP-DCV, MCSE, HP ASE Certification

  • Previous experience in a managed services environment or similar fieldwork preferred

  • Windows Active Directory, Domain Controllers and Group Policy.

  • Extensive knowledge of Windows Server 2008R2/2012R2/2016

  • Extensive knowledge of HP Hardware, Active Directory, DNS, File and Folder Security, MFA, and Microsoft RDS in Large Farm Environments

  • Experience working with healthcare-related field

  • Experience working with non-profits

Compensation Range

$106,700-$160,100
