About Protocol Labs (PL):

Protocol Labs is at the forefront of building groundbreaking technologies that push humanity forward. Our network's infrastructure team, Spaceport, is dedicated to enhancing the coordination and impact of all teams within PL, ensuring that our pursuit of technological breakthroughs remains strong and focused.

Spaceport is planning to spin off from Protocol Labs (PL) over the next few months and be a standalone startup. LabOS, the product function within Spaceport, is a pioneering social graph for the Protocol Labs’ network that enables members in the network to find and connect with others, making it easier to collaborate across mission-critical technologies.

The goal of LabOS is to become a foundational social, knowledge & coordination stack for the PL network, enabling the building of broad and deep connections.

Job Description

As the Marketing and Communications Lead for LabOS, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and communicating our vision to a diverse technical audience, developers, including startup founders. Your expertise in marketing and communications will be crucial in articulating the significance of using a robust coordination infrastructure for their success, and in turn, the success of the entire network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies across multiple channels based on comps across the startup, OSS & public goods ecosystem.
  • Understand and communicate the functional & technical aspects of products to a diverse audience.
  • Publish content & improve adoption (product walkthroughs, quick views, blogs, etc.) for product marketing initiatives.
  • Drive hands on product walkthroughs.
  • Build & test hypotheses, run campaigns & define product workflows to improve user flow & experience.
  • Collaborate closely with product lead, product ops and development teams & help prioritize product capabilities.

Skills and Experience

Must-Haves:

  • Proven experience in marketing technical products, especially in the OSS - web applications, social engineering and data product space.
  • Strong technical background, with an understanding of AI, data science, and web technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to create engaging content (video, blogs, etc.) for marketing purposes.
  • Data-driven approach with a proven track record of using analytics to inform marketing strategies.
  • Ability to work independently, with high agency and a results-driven mindset.

Should-Haves:

  • Experience in taking products from inception (0 to 1) and scaling them in the market to build a community around it.
  • Strategic thinking skills, with the ability to identify market opportunities and improve product adoption.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in a remote team environment.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Previous experience working with founders or in a startup environment.
  • A portfolio showcasing successful marketing campaigns and content creation.
  • Advanced degree in marketing, business, or a related field.
