The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in the NIL or College industry, selling to and supporting collegiate sports clients or 5+ years of sales experience with deep knowledge of the collegiate space. This role will report to the CEO, Tyrre Burks and is a remote position, available to work in Minnesota or any state in which we are currently operating (for the right individual, other locations considered). Players Health is a distributed workforce that offers a flexible, remote work environment.
We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate to join our expanding and evolving organization. The Sales Leader of the Collegiate Division will leverage their expertise to drive revenue growth and increase market share for Players Health. This role involves developing strategic partnerships to position Players Health as a leader in the NIL landscape.
The ideal candidate will exhibit a professional maturity and strong sense of resilience and ownership. Additionally, you will collaborate with customer experience, technology, Athlete Safety, and sales teams to promote Players Health's brand, thought leadership, and mission. This role is a full-time, exempt position with an annualized base salary between $50,000 - $70,000.

Responsibilities (are Inclusive Of But Not Limited To)
- Conduct comprehensive research to understand the NIL landscape, including key stakeholders such as student-athletes, collectives, universities, and the NCAA.
- Analyze market trends, competitor offerings, and identify specific needs and risk profiles of student-athletes and collectives related to NIL activities.
- Collaborate with the product development and underwriting teams to design and implement insurance products tailored to the needs of NIL participants.
- Ensure all products are compliant with NCAA regulations.
- Develop a strategic approach to target NIL market segments including individual athletes, collectives, universities, and conferences.
- Forge and nurture relationships with athletic departments, conferences, athlete representation agencies, and NIL marketing platforms.
- Negotiate and finalize partnership agreements with key NIL stakeholders.
- Craft and execute sales strategies to promote the adoption of NIL insurance products such as Portal AI and Athlete View.
- Set and achieve ambitious revenue goals to guide the sales team towards meeting targets.
- Serve as the spokesperson for the NIL division at Players Health.
- Initiate marketing campaigns to enhance visibility of NIL insurance offerings.
- Create educational content for stakeholders about NIL insurance and maintain a positive brand image.
- Stay abreast of NCAA regulations and NIL compliance practices.
- Implement internal controls to ensure all NIL insurance activities adhere to regulatory standards.
- Support the hiring and training of new hires for the division as it grows.
- Keep informed on legislative changes and evolving dynamics in the NIL landscape.
- Act as a role model and own the company mission and values
- Represent Players Health in public speaking events and engagements.
- Other duties as assigned
- In addition to occasional travel for team engagement, collaboration, or events, this role will travel as necessary to meet with clients, business partners and prospects as needed, up to 30%.
- 3+ years of experience in sales, preferably in insurance or sports-related markets.
- Demonstrated strong understanding of the NIL environment and NCAA regulations.
- Proven track record in developing strategic partnerships and managing product development in collaboration with Technology & Product teams.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and public speaking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team towards achieving business goals.
- Strong emotional intelligence skills.

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, or related field
- Prior experience in or desire to grow knowledge and experience in start-ups and/or scaling companies
- Insurance experience or strong desire to learn about insurance.
- Prior experience in a leadership position
- Demonstrated experience and/or ability to influence without authority
- Demonstrated ability to build connections and rapport cross-departmentally
- Participant/involvement in or strong understanding of the youth/amateur sports landscape.
- Ability to travel occasionally for team events, collaboration, engagement, conferences, or customer visits
- Must have a dedicated safe and secure remote work environment
- Must have the ability to work and be productive in a remote work environment
- Exceptionally self-motivated and ability to work autonomously
- Proactive communicator in all communication methods, including email (Outlook), verbal (in-person & phone), instant messaging (Slack & Teams)
- Willingness and ability to attend virtual meetings with camera on – we respect that there are times when employees may need to turn their camera off.
