The Role:

The Proofpoint Global Mobility team is looking for a Global Mobility Specialist Contractor for 6 months to join our growing team in Sunnyvale, CA. The ideal candidate will play a key role in making a positive impact on new hires and employees who will be emigrating and/or relocating for Proofpoint. The ideal candidate is a critical thinker who is solution oriented and has keen attention to detail which will enable the successful individual in upholding accuracy of immigration petitions, data tracking, and relocation initiations.

The Global Mobility Specialist Contractor will support all aspects of Proofpoint’s US & Canada immigration and relocation programs as well as support EMEA and APJ region as needed. In this role, the Specialist will partner with and support the Global Mobility Manager and will liaise directly with employees, new hires, key stakeholders, immigration law firm, and relocation vendor.

Your Day to Day:

  • Manage U.S. non-immigrant and immigrant visa filings, including various visa processes such as H-1B, TN, E-3, L-1, F visas, and green card/permanent residency processes
  • Ensures all paperwork, including applications for immigration and visas are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Handle all immigration, visa and work authorization issues, if they occur, for employee cases and transfers between countries.
  • Prepare and maintain electronic and physical immigration files, including Labor Condition Application Management (tracking and posting.)
  • Ensure valid work authorization is obtained prior to start date
  • Support global transfer cases including tracking, and ensuring cross functional teams are notified
  • Initiate Relocation Cases with our external partners
  • Preparation of travel and employment verification letters
  • Posting required immigrations documents at headquarters office location
  • Mail Management: Collect, File and Track incoming immigration mail.
  • Assist with immigration and relocation cases in EMEA and APJ; as needed

What you bring to the team

  • 5 years’ experience supporting an Immigration, Relocation or Global Mobility Program
  • Knowledge of US immigration law requirements and processes
  • Ability to handle confidential situations with integrity
  • Ability to drive work independently
  • Ability to multitask successfully in a fast-paced ever-changing environment
  • Strong analytic, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter mentality with ability to work autonomously and produce results on a varied number of projects.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills - you know how to communicate well in person and over email
