The Renewal Account Manager at Proofpoint is responsible for managing customer renewals, driving sales processes, and maintaining strong business relationships with clients. This role requires a self-motivated individual with strong sales acumen and the ability to coordinate resources effectively to meet customer needs and achieve revenue targets.
Responsibilities
- Interact with customers and technical staff within the IT organization.
- Drive the qualification, quoting, and Salesforce processes to close renewals.
- Forecast daily, monthly, and quarterly sales accurately via Salesforce and Excel.
- Meet or exceed customer renewal revenue quotas.
- Works with speed/expediency.
- Consistently staying at acceptable levels for renewal KPIs.
- Maintains the confidence of renewal peers.
- Maintains low late renewal balance.
- Maintains regular cadence with internal stakeholders.
- Effectively presents complex proposals to customer execs.
- Proactively identify customer issues and work with the Proofpoint team to resolve them.
- Gather and track information regarding customer implementation and support activity.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Proofpoint's competitive positioning in the marketplace.
Requirements
- Self-starting, responsible, and highly motivated with sound sales experience.
- Excellent business acumen blended with strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Extensive understanding of the sales order booking process and negotiation skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate Proofpoint's value.
- Highly collaborative and relationship-oriented approach to work.
- Extremely organized, detail-oriented, and process-oriented.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and resolve difficult issues using good judgment.
- Ability to coordinate Proofpoint resources to execute complex sales strategies.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and web conferencing tools.
- Ability to effectively use Salesforce.com and other online tools.
