Financial Reporting Manager

This person will be responsible for strategy, operational and policy recommendations related to the financial reporting function for Red Ventures. This includes internal and external financial reporting as well as technical accounting research and guidance. Ideal candidates will possess a fun, positive, energetic attitude and thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. This position will have an immediate impact on Red Ventures and daily exposure to our executive leadership team.
Work Experience
What You'll Do:
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial reporting package, similar to 10-Ks, for distribution to internal and external stakeholders according to key deadlines
- Prepare and review monthly balance sheet, income statement and statement of cash flows
- Act as liaison to the external auditors including planning and monitoring interim and year-end audit fieldwork and coordination with business partners
- Partner with the Investor Relations team and senior stakeholders in the preparation of materials for the quarterly lender call and address investor queries related to financial reports
- Act as a change agent to streamline, improve and further automate the reporting processes to provide a new perspective on existing processes.
- Review journal entries and reconciliations as needed
Technical Accounting:
- Proactively identify, research, consult, and draft technical memorandums on accounting issues and disclosures, including new accounting and reporting standards
- Educate and partner with cross-functional business leaders to ensure understanding and application of various technical accounting matters, compliance with controls and new accounting standards
Accounting Policy:
- Participate in the ongoing development and establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies, including the review and implementation of process and system changes
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting best practices, processes, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Responsible for the general ledger and chart of accounts. Review account roll-ups and classification to ensure compliance with GAAP and internal reporting requirements
Financial Analysis:
- Perform and review analytical procedures to assist in monthly validations and work with accounting teams to ensure data accuracy
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor staff, providing guidance and support to ensure team performance and development, including detailed review of work products for identification of improvement opportunities and coaching of all staff levels
- Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Strategically establish staffing requirements with senior management – support recruitment, interview, on-board and train new employees
- What We're Looking For:
- Accounting Expertise: Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulations
- GAAP Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP standards and regulations
- Leadership and Management: Ability to lead and motivate a team, delegate tasks, and provide guidance. Possess a desire to build institutional knowledge and steep themselves in the company's values to drive culture
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights with strong attention to detail
- Communication & Organization Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Work cross-functionally and maintain working relationships within the finance & accounting organization, including controllership, FP&A, general accounting, and treasury
- Problem-solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve accounting issues
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Workday, Workiva, Blackline and other relevant tools
