Relativity (Chicago, IL) seeks a Lead SRE Engineer to be responsible for driving customer confidence by assuring the quality of Relativity’s current and future software products and to contribute to a motivating environment that empowers teams and individuals to engineer performant and reliable software through SRE best practices and principles.

Job Description and Requirements

Specific responsibilities include: monitoring and communicating items related to baseline performance and availability of RelativityOne’s core cloud product (15%); maintaining a highly distributed production system in a public cloud through coordination with infrastructure engineering teams in the areas of distributed database, compute, and storage systems (15%); provide input for pre-release review practices to ensure proper reliability by design processes are included in architecture and monitoring of new product features and infrastructure (5%); consulting with Client Services on large and complex workspace challenges and workflows that help drive the way we scale and monitor within RelativityOne’s core products and supporting Client Services by offering expertise to customers on performance related incidents and requests (10%); deploying approved and emergency changes into testing and production environments (5%); planning, developing, and delivering tools and systems to improve SRE operational challenges through Agile software development best practices (10%); providing feedback to Engineering teams regarding areas of the software that require increased reliability monitoring and alerting when gaps are identified, as well as ensuring engineering teams are monitoring and meeting availability SLO/SLA levels (20%); developing and providing centralized reliability monitoring and reporting for engineering and service delivery teams (10%); and supporting Problem and Incident Managers by providing information regarding trends of reoccurring issues within the application and cloud infrastructure (10%). Option to work remotely from anywhere in the U.S.

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related engineering degree, plus 7 years of experience in the job offered, or as a Technical Test Lead, Performance Engineer, or similar professional software development experience on commercial-grade systems and applications.

Must have 7 years of experience with each of the following: designing, implementing, and measuring performance and reliability for commercial grade systems and applications; supporting and maintaining Production environments that host commercial-grade systems and applications; and troubleshooting hardware and software. Must also have 5 years of experience with each of the following: working with Systems/Database Administration and Quality Assurance disciplines; working with Windows O/S and SQL Server; communicating test results, codes and observations to team members; and communicating performance results to non-technical audiences. Option to work remotely from anywhere in the U.S. Salary: $150,000/year.

This position is eligible for total compensation which includes a competitive base salary, an annual performance bonus, and long-term incentives.

The expected salary range for this role is between following values:

$150,000 and $224,000

The final offered salary will be based on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's depth of experience, skill set, qualifications, and internal pay equity. Hiring at the top end of the range would not be typical, to allow for future meaningful salary growth in this position.
